I've had mine on for over 2 years, installed with only the included hardware and as instructed, with absolutely no problems as well ... still look as good as new.

Amazing how the back molded curved piece fits in perfectly. Chevy Engineers did their homework on this set.
Attaches to all original fastener locations -- Only one hole is called for to be drilled in front fender lip, but that is optional in my opinion.

Thanks for the heads up...
Do you have the OEM part # for these so I can referance that if and when mine get destroyed?
The full set OEM part # for front and back from my instruction sheet shows (I paid $120):
#23114080
or I see newer number on ebay:
#23114083

You can also buy just front or back set separate.
Best to make sure the set you order are the stealth splash guards not the bigger clunky mud guards, there seems to be confusion on ebay with the part numbers -- maybe Chevy re-used that part number on two different items.
If not in hurry may find a good deal on them.
Ron

Yes the OEM ZL1 set showed that would work. When ordering, it only warned it would not work if the optional factory aero ground effects package was installed.

Punched that number into gmpartshouse and came up with this
http://www.gmpartshouse.com/oe-gm/23114083

Picture shows the big clunky ones.

I saw the ones on ebay and are OEM front and rear. Here's the link:

I installed these the first week I bought my car back in 2010. They still hold up great with no issues. However I would not put 3M tape on the back like the OP did. Small pebbles and rocks constantly get stuck behind the front ones and the only way to remove them is to loosen the guards.
