New numbers for Drsagacity Dyno Pulls 4/7/18

Just got back from the Dyno again, Russ will post new numbers 550/569 or something like that. He'll also post the graph. Its just about where I thought it would be, just had a few hiccups along the way, figured those out and Russ was a happy guy. He'll add more when he gets home.

We are getting ready to go to the dyno, Russ purchased the Maggie from Magnuson and we did the install with Rotofab, stainless works axle backs. We stayed with the stock 98 mm pulley since he does drive it on the street but he will probably go down to the 95mm later on. It will be a 93 octane tune and shooting for 540 or say on a pretty conservative tune. We did also install a front splitter and we are waiting on Zl1 side skirts and also a set of aftermarket wheels. Should have it all wrapped up by next weekend if the other stuff shows up and might even lower it for him if we don't have any clearance issues with the wheel and tire package he ordered. I'll post up some numbers later this afternoon.

I'm interested to see your results. I should receive my 2300 maggie kit from Ted J on Wednesday. I plan to do the install next weekend. Ted is starting me out with a 95mm pulley.

Good stuff 5-6psi and a really conservative tune. 527rwhp 550rwtq.

With the 98mm pulley...I will order the 95mm pulley this week. On the street, this will be so much fun...can’t wait.

Thanks for all your help Greg (Laynlo).

Russ is right we needed the 95 mm pulley to get to our goal. He will get it ordered this week and that should add about 1.5 lbs of boost and put him about 545-550 rwhp and 560 rwt. Fuel was a little rich but the tune was actually set up for a 95 mm pulley so when we get the pulley installed I think it will be a pretty nasty Vert and hard to handle for most cars on the street in the Gateway area. I know Russ has more planned for later in the year so watch out for the Drsagacity 2ss in the Stl area. We will get it to the track soon also and see what it will do on street tires. I think it will be pretty respectable for sure. I'll get some graphs posted later

For anyone reading this thread, I can tell you on a previous Vette, I went down this path and got to sick power levels after I blew the motor and went with a completely forged setup (head/cam, headers, no cats, magnaflow exhaust, gears, converter and a shift kit - around 800rwhp)...it was sick. Of course I had to add gears and converter to match the powerband for the Procharger.

Here’s the thing, on that journey, I went from a crazy fun car when it was around 500rwhp because I was running a safe amount of boost and the car drove like stock until you got into it, but could still have fun on street tires too.

At the end, the car was loud, had a lope, very hard and fast shifts, and with that much power I had to drive on DR’s all the time. Street tires became very unsafe because breaking it loose at 50mph...it’s scary. Plus, the wife hated it because of how loud it got.

This time around, I decided on the Maggie because the torque comes on so quick the stock converter and gears would be perfect. Fun to drive with a stock feel until in boost. I figure with this setup and some good DR’s, it will be good for low
-mid 11’s on pump gas (with a shitty driver) and able to idle in traffic (with air on). I really hate the idea of changing the car so that on the track is different than I would ride around on the street.

I know how this game works and once you get bit, it’s hard to turn it off. . .but as someone who has been there and done that, figured others might like to hear about it. Looking forward to playing with the vert this summer and will love to compare my Procharger setup and the experience with it compared to the Maggie.

This car drives like stock, it got 25 mpg going to and from the dyno. Can't beat that in my opinion. Boost levels are very safe, with the 95 mm pulley change you'll be 7 1/2 to 8 lbs max with about 11.8 to 12.0 on the AFR. We saw 6.5 to 7 lbs on all 3 pulls. Mine was about 700 rwhp at 14-15 lbs. Who's do you think is safer?

Greg, there is no doubt. When I was getting to your HP levels I got rid of street tires and just used drag radials 100% of the time. The nice part was, my speed at the track and my speed on the street was exactly the same...downside, don’t get caught in the rain or you are in for a scary ride.

I believe the Maggie is a better setup than what I had with my Procharger because the other changes, gears and converter aren’t necessary to be in the powerband. That’s why I am excited with this setup because even if I bump it to 640rwhp, it will drive like stock...unless I add the cam.

In other news, New plates have been ordered. WCKED SS.

is this all on the SCT factory tune? with all that rotofab, and all factory it was dynode at 517. I had it retuned with HPtuners (to level out the richness) at 527. Now, I just got my 95MM and colder plugs and will be having it retuned to meet that specifications. I'm hoping around 540 and no more than 550. that's comfortable for me.

I think they used the HP tuner. I was thinking the exact same thing. I sent an email to Magnuson today to see if they could get the 95mm pulley shipped. I was impressed, 527rwhp, but 550rwtq. For my purposes, really there will be very little difference between 530 and 550rwhp. The only reason I even I care about 550rwhp is because that equates to 650hp at the crank....which I think is a cool number (assuming 15% loss). At the same time, when I am driving to the golf course or taking the kids out for top down fun, it won’t matter at all. 😀

I'm bummed. Double checked the UPS tracking info only to find that the package due to arrive Wednesday weighs 4lbs...obviously some misc parts, maybe the 95mm pulley or cold plugs that I also ordered from JRE. This would have been the perfect weekend for the install too... I'm off Friday and the wife is out of town. I guess I'll have to wait a little longer.
I'll be interested to see your 95mm pulley numbers, if you don't make 550, you should be damn close.
