New P1X dyno numbers 681/585rw.

Dyno numbers from today for the stock cam/long block P1X car. The runs were made in 5th gear. I added a Mighty Mouse catch can, LT4 injectors and highside pump. I also made some adjustments to the air filter. We were able to hit 180Kpa at 6,500 this time. We still ran out of fuel on pump at 11.8-12.0 afr at around 6,300 or 660rw so we had the bump it a little with meth. Looking at the graph now I guess I should have run it out to 6,800. I pulled out all the tuning tricks for fuel as well. It was plain and simple out of fuel.

Mark has decided to step it up so stay tuned. Maybe we will hunt down the all time P1X record.

Nice though! I have a cam, long tubes, and pistons. On 93 (E10) we made 695rwhp with the Novi 1500

what tapped out Pray? Low side? Or does it need the fuel lobe from a cam to bridge the gap?

Did you use the Wild MM catch can? Any pics of it installed?

Low side crapped out but it is really hard to tell. I am logging rail commanded vs. rail pressure and pump commanded vs. pump pressure. I did gain 200+rw though by adding the LT4 top side. It appears that the low side starts to drop and drags the rail pressure with it. That spikes the injector ms which in turn puts a bigger draw on the rails. But, I could have it backwards. It could be the high side pump tapping out with the stock cam lobe. Then the injectors open up to try to compensate and it pulls what ever the pumps can give it. But to me it seems that the high side pump would act kind of like a regulator or a plug. I don't see how it could effect the low side pressure if the high side pump is the issue. I am no genius so it will probably have to be explained to me how this whole deal works. It has to be the high side pump though if a cam lobe helps fueling. It can't be the low side unless we just got a crap pump.

We did get the mongo MM can. I will snap a pic when I get a minute. I had to adjust some stuff and reposition some stuff and make some stuff to make it work. I will get with David but I think two 90* turns would do the trick.

On the stock fuel system the single 10 nozzle was about wide open. We still had some room. The LT4 system was right there. At 12.2-3 AFR it held.

Do you guys offer a drop in piston/rod combo? Is there even such a thing? How far do you think you can push just pistons on the stock rods?

Cunningham offers a drop in rod/piston combo. I have it on my car, we still went ahead and removed the motor and did the "normal" machine work to it though.

That's always a good plan. Did you have to re-balance? Did everything check out?

Think I read Cunninghams combo drops compression 1 point, if you find out its the high side pump I wonder how much more you would of gotten out of the lingenfelter bigbore over the lt4 if any. Are you still going to the track tomorrow?

Definitely don't want to do that.

No, track is off for this car. Gonna dig in and get a bunch of stuff done.

I am now runing the Cunningham rods and pistons. I did nothing but a light hone. I weighed the stock vs forged set up and it was identical on my scale but my scale only went down to 4 gram increments. So far so good up 6000rpm and 5 psi. No smoke or funny noises.

Does that car have headers? Cats? Stock open npp?

We had it all balanced just because I wanted to be absolutely sure and my shop wasn't going to charge me anything for it. They weighed out perfectly to stock so I am sure it would have been fine. I forgot they do drop them a full compression point but we wanted that anyways since ours will be a maxed out all in build that will also run on pump gas on occasion.
