takes about 10 minutes fully drain, maybe longer?

2016 SS M6 here....
uses 1 qt every 2500 mi. on a 5k mi OCI. 17k+ miles now and 3 different types of oil and no change so far.
Inquired at the dealer after 1st oil change at 1100 miles on the odometer, SA stated normal is 1qt or less in 2000 mi.

My driving has time in the 3k-4k rpm band (don't spend anytime at or below 2k rpm), 2nd 3rd and 4th gear pulls and engine braking on downshifts which i am told consumes more oil than put-putting around town driving like an old lady. I don't spend time on a track, my guess is that the usage would not go down if i did. i tired to drive less aggressively to measure usage during a 5k oci; couldn't stick to that program through the 5k miles; so needless to say, it didn't work.

i was reading different threads about the issue. Some track guys mentioned no oil usage, but they spend a lot of time on the track and they say that they are changing the oil every 1000 miles, so yeah probably no noticeable usage; but would there be any on a 5k mile OCI? who knows? in the end it seems like there are some that report oil usage and those that report no oil usage.....

i have trust issues; not sure i would want the dealer techs replacing an engine or tearing one down and without my car for months at a time? i am not sure they are doing this kind of work that much anyway, this is only the 3rd model year for that version of the revised for Camaro LT1 engine.

i would rather have a race engine builder shop do the work; some one that does it for a living not some one that does it once in a while. this wont happen because i am not going to put $ into a motor that runs well except for burning some oil.

Performance cars of my past have burnt oil as well, this one does not seem to be any different; so "c'set la vie" just my 2 cents...

Zero far as I can tell. Don't track it. Do chase challengers into submission though. 4K miles. One oil Change.
