how long until we get a blower cam that supports VVT?
with the upcoming LT1 and with vendors finally utilizing VVT to solid gains in cam packages, how long before we get a blower cam for the L99 guys that supports VVT?
a blower is the next move on my car but I kind of want to wait out the storm and utilize VVT instead of converting to a LS3 and using a LS9 or other blower cam...

VVT cams are readily available now. Comp makes quite a few and you can spread the LSA out a little on the ones they list if you want to go forced induction. DOD or Active Fuel Management is what limits the cams. I think you can only go .500 lift without pulling the heads and getting rid of the heavy DOD lifters. You do have to limit the travel of the VVT actuator so you don't have an exhaust valve kiss a piston.
Not sure what they did with the lifters on the LT1. Hopefully you can run more lift with them. They did raise the redline on that engine I believe.

So an LS3 Valve train conversion is necessary which means pulling the heads VVT Cams are available NOW, but the bigger the cam the Less you can utilize VVT. VVT is Used for EGR during Cruise and only retards the cam 2-7 degrees at by 5600 rpm starting at 3200 rpm. Remember the days when we removed EGR valves for Performance applications? EGR Stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculation. If you retard the cam enough Exhaust gases go up in to the intake manifold adding exhuast gas to the mixture to lower NOX. Ted.

When you rune an L99 the VVT can provide more gains. My tuner used it to my favor.

Larger cams will not allow the additional movement. Ted.
