Fbodfather confirmed?
The answer is in his avatar...
Btw I've been around for a long time and I do know he has had the same avatar for a few years but why hasn't he changed it? He is telling us something |

That pic has been there for awhile. Just another misplaced assumption.

Can anyone confirm when a prototype was announced as the pace car? Not saying it hasn't happened, but the car won't be on sale for a lonnnggggg time after Memorial day.

Well the C7 Corvette paced the 2013 race in May and dealer units didn't start shipping until mid-ish September. The camouflaged prototype F6s seen in public have been around for a while now haven't they? (Fbod's avatar is the '13 Hot Wheel Festival cars, there were 50)
http://www.autoevolution.com/news/ex...der-93139.html Wonder if there is a CSI type search for the "insider". Those that know are being very tight-lipped. Oh and by the way.... Shhh not GM but.... '91 Viper Prototype thanks to the uproar over the Mitsubishi made Dodge Stealth that was first selected. http://www.indypacecars.com/1991.html If you read the link they mention "to avoid controversy...", actually it was to avoid FURTHER controversy. It was a pretty big deal here and UAW members were even showing up at the Speedway with pickets signs, as well as the media attention it was drawing. EDIT: One more thing, there were three ZL1's prepped (blue over silver two-tone) to pace the '13 race but the Corvette got the call at the very last minute (they did get used at later dates). Point? Things can always change. They didn't reveal it until May 2nd, very late traditionally. Maybe they weren't sure the 'vette would be ready. (Years ago they always revealed the pace car at the Indianapolis Auto Show that goes from Xmas to new Years. They've switched things up considerably since then. Remember '11 reveal at B-J Scottsdale auction?). EDIT 2: One thing for sure, must of made the decision for Festivals cars, 'cause if you're going to build 50 - 100 identical cars, get them to Indy, and prep them all by late April... At least this year they won't have to swap the tires/wheels out, last year the black wheels were shipped separately and they had to change every one of them.
