Thermal Limitations of a 2.0T 1LE

If Chevy was to offer a 1LE with the 2.0T... Before mods how well would you "think" it would do on the track... That Turbo like all turbos runs hot and if you was to auto cross it... Would a large enough intercooler be sufficient enough to cool the engine

I lurk the 5th gen forums sometime and came across something about a mod that adds on to the air conditioning system for the ZL1... Is that possible for a turbocharged engine

And you know me personally... I hate Forced Induction engines from a reliability standpoint.. Nothing beats NA but you just can't knock the performance of Turbocharged engines especially with a tune... A V6 1LE is calling my name but if they add the pack to the 2.0...

Parts can be added to make it better but at what cost? Before you buy you need to decide how fast you really wanna go and how hard on the drivetrain you wanna be. The new v6 w/1le package with full bolt-ons will be one hell of a track toy without being hard on parts.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but a tuned 2.0T with the same suspension as V6 should beat it on the track and 0-60...

The stock number will go from 275hp/ 295 tq to about 315 hp/ 350-360 tq in a platform that weighs 100 lbs less IN THE NOSE...

Better turn in, better torque, less overall mass, less frontal weigh bias.

My experience is with VW/Audi DI turbos, engine that the manufacturer detunes by a good margin... I can not say how overbuilt the LGT is in comparison. It is being sold out of the GM Performance Parts Catalogue as an alternative for hot rods so that's a good sign.

The V6 is still a very good engine with a sweet exhaust howl, it just gets screwed in easy hp gains...

http://youtu.be/Qrs0oa-XIV4 great vid of V6 sound

Yeah I know... I wouldn't even consider a V6 Camaro at all honesty but the 1LE... It's just scream all around fun...especially tossing that ass around

But Globs of Torque at 2,000 RPM is also fun, my Ecoboost 1.6 in my fusion has just under 180 pounds of torque and when it comes on @2500-3500 RPMs makes the car really fun to drive

Autocross courses are a one "lap" at a time thing, and are usually over in less than 90 seconds. I'm NOT sure, but I wouldn't think heat would be a real issue like it would be on a road course. Now, road racing is a heat monster.

A 2.0T 1LE is IMO something they should do for that crowd. The turbo crowd is typically really into stiff suspensions, etc. I recently saw some weight comparisons between the V8, V6 and I4 Camaro, and I was STUNNED at how much lower weight the turbo 4 car came in at. Not my cup of tea, but for those that love turbo 4s, I think a 1LE for them is an obvious win. I did have a turbo 4 (LNF) Sky Redline with GMs factory stage 2 kit (290hp/340 ft lbs torque) and it was a freaking ball. More horsepower and torque than my 95 Z28 had stock! So, I do get how awesome turbo 4s can be today. But, if they offered a LS3 in the Sky, I would have ordered it.
