It's my hunch that the new 1LE with use or have MRC as an option . This is based on a few factors.

#1. MRC is no longer an elite option reserved for special edition GM models.

#2. MRC can be further tuned to provide what is needed for a hardcore track experience while keeping the ability of a superior DD. Think of an even more hardcore track mode, or an additional track mode ... " Track Mode Plus"

#3 the lower trim 350 has Magnetic Ride as an option

#4 I don't believe GM will be splitting their resources between two Z Camaro halo cars... We will get one Z car and the 1LE will get the some/ all of suspension pieces from that car. I think MRC has simply too much potential for GM to go with a super narrow track focussed conventional set up like the 5th Gen Z28.

I am waiting till '17 myself with the hope their will be a 1LE. It seems to be testing along side the ZL1, and I really think GM wants to take the GT350's out on all levels. Plus, '17 is the 50th anniversary, and while I am sure it will be too gaudy for my taste, I want to see what they do.

I disagree entirely. There is nothing extreme about the current 1LE. It's some minor upgrades that have a big impact. Besides, they could have been developing it since before the 6th gen was even released. Plus, Ford released the GT350 as a 2016. Some even made it as 2015s. The Z51 package was available from day one on the C7, as well.

MRC is not needed for a car like the 1LE. The 1LE is relatively focused, so daily driving comfort isn't really a factor in the set up. It's also a relatively affordable package. I would rather they put the money into bigger brakes than MRC.

Agree, I don't want MRC on a 1LE. The bigger brakes may push the price up too high though. Maybe they can keep the SS calipers, and just add larger rotors...much cheaper that way. I hope the 1LE package is no more then $4000.

The 6th gen SS already comes with the same trans as the 5th gen 1LE, so they may not need to change the trans gearing. They could apply the costs of the trans swap to the upgraded brakes.

I would actually think the opposite.

For an anniversary model, GM will probably just tart up the bodywork or interior with some flashy bits, and say it's a limited edition and charge a premium. No added engineering or R&D costs required. It worked for Ford.

While the 6th Gen gear in the shorter than the fifth GEN SS... I was still prefer a 3.91 ratio to keep the rev band in its sweet spot for the track....

I will definitely be waiting.... If only to hope they release the 6th Gen compatible Recaros as options or GM Performance purchase items... The new Z will definitely have them.

I'll wait till Spring for additional info.

Valid point, that would work for me!

Well they already have larger 6 piston brakes. If they're factory installed they won't be too expensive.

Every 1LE part going on is an SS part coming off so you could make a big chunk of the cost back up by reselling the used parts. Not down to the $3500 but not 3x as much either.

Remember 2017 is the 50Th and they will have SP edition Cars for that event. I'd think a 1LE would be easier to produce then say a ZL1 or a Z28 edition. Just my Opinion .

the new Camaro without a doubt is an amazing car. Yes, im going to get one but I think im going to wait until 2017. Despite "tests" saying its posting better times than previous 1LE, the possiblity of a Gen6 1LE to me is worth waiting.
