Upgrades!
Hello Everyone,
After quickly getting lost scrolling through the various threads on here I have slowly started to figure out which Camaro I should buy. So far I have narrowed it down to the bare-bones 2ss with no add-ons since I won't be tracking the car and it is hot as heck out here in AZ! Are there any options outside of the 1LE you would recommend? Additionally, would you advise trying to get a build going ASAP or wait for whatever electric/hybrid Camaro shows up? I am not in any particular rush considering car prices are still kinda crazy right now. |

Well even if you placed an order for one now, you probably won't see it till the mid of next year give or take a few months.
Truthfully, 1LE package is amaze balls. Just bare in mind Camaros are no more as of 2023. So next year is probably the last year to order them.

So did GM officially put this out or just an internet rumor?

My advice is to order the Camaro you want now and not wait until later. You say you aren’t in too much of a rush but like Fluke said 2023 or 2024 will be the death of the Camaro. Unless you want to wait for an EV version of the Camaro that is your decision but I personally would order the last of the best! Good luck.

narrowed it down to the bare-bones 2ss
The 2SS is far from bare bones. LOL I agree with the other guys, order sooner rather than later. There are many people that ordered 2022's and their order never got picked up by GM for production.

I found my 2SS almost literally coming off the truck. Keep checking dealers websites.

Not sure if the ventilated seats come standard with the 2SS, but that would probably the one feature I'd recommend being in Arizona. There's something to be said about getting out of your car after a long trip without having swampass.

Agree with others that the 2SS is pretty well loaded up in terms of safety (camera mirror, blind zone alerts), comfort (heated/cooled seats, etc.), and tech features at least as far as Camaros go... Don't compare it to a Blackwing or other more luxury cars, that isn't a fair comparison.
Beyond the 1LE package the things you can option on a 2SS for the most part are styling choices to make the car your own - different colors, different rims, different seats (I chose the Ceramic White, many people really like the Recaros), ground effects, stripes, etc. Those really come down to what speaks to you and makes you enjoy the look of your car more. As others have said, while there is no official end date, it is widely expected that 2024 will be the last year of the Camaro. If you want on, I wouldn't wait. It is hard to get an allocation and many people are waiting months (it was 9 months for me across two model years).

Mine has it. But I thought there was a shortage of sorts regarding them?

They do come standard in the 2SS. I don't find them terribly helpful in the convertible but would expect them to have more value in the coupe. I would genuinely love cooled seats in the convertible for those days when it's actually almost too hot to have the top down. I think they call that "any day ending in Y" in Arizona.
