Could GM built Gen 6 and Gen 5 Camaros along side?
With the success in sales and it being more and more recognizes as good driver's car, could it be done?
I'm wondering If GM could continue to build the Gen 5 Camaro while still making a new 6th gen model car? Since the 6th gen will be manufacture along side the Cadillac plant, could GM decide to continue to make the 5th Gen at the Oshawa plant for a few years? Think of VW, They still manufacture the same 1964 Beetle in Brasil and make also the new Beatle for other markets. Humm.. food for thoughts.

Never would happen. Aside from Nissan keeping the 350Z convertible for the first year the 370Z was released (370 convertible replaced it a year later), I can't think of one example of that happening.
Would cost too much money and GM wants 6th gen sales, not 5th gen once the new model is released. It would cannibalize 6th gen sales (no matter how big or small) and GM won't have that

No reason for them to... I could see them continuing the Z/28 like BMW did for the M3 while they engineer a successor but short of that I don't see it happening... Doesn't make much sense.... However being that the 5th and 6th Gen will be produced at different plants, Chevy could very well decide to make Gen 5 Camaro's right up until they get the Gen 6 on the streets (This doesn't make much sense though, as it would bite into the first year sales)

That's where the idea started...(I might have the money in the next couple of years for it hoping it would go down in price compare to the gen6 Z/28 and still be able to buy it new.)

I don't see it happening, but in 1987 you could order two different versions of pick up trucks. They offered the V & K series 4x4 and the R & C series 4x2.

I think that interest in the 5th gen will be drastically reduced when the new one hits.

It would be confusing and it could also hurt the marketing image if Chevy markets the two camaro generations together.
What may happen, however, is some overlap where leftover '15s and older 5th gens may still be for sale on dealer lots with the new 6th gen.

For 2014, Infiniti built the G37 beside the Q50.

Selfishness I reckon. I don't want to see my 5th gen built for another 3 or 4 years.
