The V6s seem to carbon up pretty quickly. I had a 2012 LT for a while and was always having to clean the tips. My 2013 SS tips stay quite clean, by comparison. I think the Direct Injection V6 engines just run dirtier, for whatever reason.
NOTE: Also, the catch can on my LT collected a lot more crud than the one on my SS does.

I love black residue inside of the tips. I never clean the inside of the tip. Outside of the tip I will.
