The joys of being the second owner

I just noticed today that the previous owner of my '10 SS had installed a Corsa cat-back. I had dropped something unloading my trunk and noticed the engraving on the tips just peeking out from under the diffuser. It's a little small for my future plans but cool nonetheless. This adds to the smooth chrome bowties on each end, tinted windows and GM Accessories Inferno Orange engine cover as little tweaks I've found in the past 2 months.

No. It's not an aggressive exhaust at all until you really open it up. This was the first L99 that I had driven so I had no reference until I heard another stock L99 this weekend. The dealer that I bought it from made no mention of it and I had no good reason to look.

You never noticed? Corsa is one of the best sounding cat-backs out there and I find the Corsa sound is always noticeable.

Like I said, it sounds different than the stock L99 but it's only a 2.5" system. The Corsa site only claims a 6 HP increase so no it's not a huge improvement in performance. Looking back to when I still had AFM enabled the drone in 4 cylinder mode was louder for me than the guys with stock exhaust were describing. I bought the car in November and have been driving it back and forth to work. This weekend crept back up into the 50s and was the first time that I've even made a WOT run. I would say that it's a very "European" sound under heavy throttle. I'll be parting with the Corsa when I do long tubes and a 3" exhaust with the Procharger install.

Before you ditch the Corsa install the long tubes and fire the car up. It just might surprise you. I'll admit I have thought the Corsa system is too quiet with stock manifolds and cats, but once you get the long tubes on it your Camaro should become a whole new animal.

2.5" pipe is too small for my long-term power goals so it'll have to go regardless. I'll see if I can find some videos of their 3" system plus long tubes.

I had a similar experience. I test drove a Camaro in the States before buying mine over seas. When I tried the car I eventually bought here in China I thought that it sounded different and felt more powerful. I kept going back to the dealership for about four weeks, noticing different things, one was the Borla exhaust that was installed, another was the K&N air filter stored in the trunk in the original box. Those were some selling points for me, and they guys at that dealership really had no idea about any of this too, in a way I saved a lot of money not having to buy those items myself! It is nice to own a well cared for second hand car at times like this!

well means when you go to 3" you can sell the Corsa. Whats your goal?

Full 1LE suspension, with BMR adjustable sway bars and links, GM aluminum cradle bushings, Hurst shifter with lighter reverse spring, TWM shifter knob, Tick level 1 transmission. I should have bought a ZL1

550-600 rwhp. Our shop Camaro with an LS3 and full ARH system laid down a little over 580 to the rear wheels the last time it had a P1SC mounted to it. That's been my benchmark as it is a good level to hit without necessitating major upgrades. I plan on installing a Level 4 BMR kit with their Pro cradle and diff bushings subbed in. I just remembered that the long ARH system with 1 7/8" long tubes and 3" mid-pipes is designed to connect to a 2.5" axle back so I may keep that portion of the Corsa as it'll free up $1000-1500 for other mods. A P1X blower, ported TB and ZL1 fuel pump/ADM FPCM will round out the remainder of my performance mods.

Our engineering team has a few track days each year and I'm aiming to be competitive against the shop fleet. Right now that's everything from 3V Mustangs to C7s with Prochargers. My main advantage is that I plan on having some suspension work underneath me while their trying to hook up fairly stock.
