The 2016 Camaro SS will put 5 car lengths on a GT

I am amazed by the ignorant people I meet. I had someone try and tell me that the new Mustang GT also runs low 12's bone stock and it is now a drivers race with the 2016 Camaro. I informed him that with a good driver...on average the GT runs around a 12.9-13.0 in the 1/4, and that the new Camaro will run around 12.3-12.4. Sadly I could not sway his opinion...got to love ignorant people.

The rule of thumb is .1 equates to roughly 1 car length in the 1/4 mile.

Lol the Furd camp is desperately trying to save face. They thought they were super cool because the 5.0 had a slight edge on the 5th gen for a few years. Now it's 1993 all over again. 6th gen flat out dominates a 5.br0 from any speed. The A8's have already ran high 11's bone stock on stock tires.

True, very true. I've seen it in person at the track. Love the Mustang's performance and reactions to modification, but stock vs stock, Camaro is king.

You're a bit off on the Mustang times, but it's still not a drivers race.

Depending on gearing, the Mustang automatic averages between 12.6 and 12.8 in the 1/4 with 3.55's and between 12.7 and 12.9 with 3.15's. That's bone stock on stock 235 all seasons. 13's are certainly possible if the driver biffs it on the launch and spins, or hops the wheels and has to get out of it, etc.

The Camaro has run everything from a 11.9X in mine shaft, supernaturally good air all the way up to a 12.8X in SoCal.

I guess the best way to prove how fast your car is on the strip is to take it there and show your time slips. Or get this mustang guy to line up beside you.

Well time slips would indicate a sanctioned and legal race on a drag strip.

A heads up race on a prepped track would be about as apples-to-apples comparison as it gets

I don't get you, the "average" GT runs12.6 to 12.8 and the Camaro runs 11.9 only in supernaturally air. I would consider magazine test to be better than average and I don't want a comprehensive list but in general we are looking at low 13 to high 12s from the magazines. No you can't race magazines, I look forward to destroying any GT I meet stock or otherwise under all conditions.

sorry the "average" GT ain't running 12.6 to 12.8. The average GT is running at best the time above, and that is at best. Not saying Joe blow's GT auto insert local track is running 12s, I'm sure they are. They ain't "average".

Please don't bring up the local race track caus my Camaro with tune, summer tires, MSD intake, CAI, CAT delete and exhaust = bone stock.... The Camaro is just out, and if we are talking local track numbers more and more "average" "bone stock" 2016 SS will be in the 11s M6 and auto. Point is YOUR LOCAL track aint "average" and it ain't "stock".

The test numbers have spoken and Bone stock by a better than average drive the Mustang is a low 13 or high 12 second car. Lets just call it 13.0 is AVERAGE. The Camaro is low to mid 12s and that IS A COMPLETE AND TOTAL BLOW OUT. The average SS is faster than the GT by about the same amount the GT is faster than a V6 2016 Camaro as a perspective.

Since we're only going off magazine times..then there has been no sub 12 second Camaro time, correct?

The double standards on this site are hilarious.
