It everything is correctly, put the car in transport mode, and you'll get 4 to 5 weeks out of the battery with no problems with no charger. I did it all last summer.

The Camaro used a lead acid battery. That I know of GM doesn't use a AGM in any vehicle they sell currently.

The v6 batt is AGM, clearly marked that way. Will post pic of my batt next week.

Here ya go.

If you don't plan to drive for a while, you can put the car into Transport Mode...

With the car off, turn on the hazards, depress the brake pedal, and hold the start button down for 15 seconds. The dash will then throw up a message confirming Transport Mode.

To get it back out of Transport mode, do the same thing again.

Transport Mode reduces power-usage to a minimum so that the car can sit for longer periods without draining the battery. Courtesy of member TonyNo

Where does is say that? I hate owner's manuals that try to be one size fits all when there are so many differences.

no not posted above. I found it in another thread. but that was wrong. I just went out and my SS has a type 48 AGM in it. If you look up the charger that comes wit hut cars it says Lead Acid only on the front cover
