This is my point ive been trying to make. people who dont understand how NLS is supposed to work are probably just beating the shit out of their drivetrain and think they have it because they are reading on the forums that all 6 gen camaros have it. MY car absolutely does not have NLS. if I try the same test of holding the clutch in it will rise in rpms to redline and bounce of the limiter..

I would like to see a non 1LE SS perform that same exact test to see if it works the same as the video above.

I also wonder if rev match being on or off has an impact on NLS. Maybe that's why some are reporting an engine speed drop and others are not.

If your revs dont drop when you clutch in while holding Wide open throttle then your car does not have NLS end of story.

I sniffed around in HPT and found the NLS default settings. It is in the engine>fuel>cutoff menu. I see no reason why the pedal % could not be dialed back to about 50%?

HP tuners does not necessarily display ALL tables and parameters, right? If so, then we don't really know all the enables.

This is a good start though.

While NLS is active, will engine speed still drop even without active rev matching on?

Apparently there is a lot more to this than these two values. I found this over on the HPT forums:

Just do no-lift shifting with the rev limiter. Set the control method to spark or fuel (whichever you prefer) but disable ETC. Set the switchover delay to 20 (the entire table), then set the cutoff RPM vs gear wherever you want it. The numbers you put in Park and Neutral should be the same, and the computer will hold them when you have your foot on the clutch pedal, when you're off the clutch pedal, it'll rev to the numbers in the rest of the table.

The way I do it, I set my in gear numbers to 7200 RPM, and my park neutral to 6000...when I shift, the PCM cuts spark (to the numbers in the minimum final spark table I believe) but the throttle plate stays open. This seems to help abuse the transmission less, and it returns to life instantly when my foot comes off the clutch pedal. You can set the same RPM too...but I found if shift at 7K, I want the tach right around 6K anyways.

Makes sense, looking at my 2nd test video it seems the RPMs held just above where they needed to be for the next gear.

If you do a proper no lift shift (power shift) its so quick, there is no time to see or hear the rpm drop. So the rpm stays for that split second exactly where you performed the power shift. Then you will see (rather hear) the rpm drop to where it needs to be for the next gear. Again, all in the split second it takes to do a power shift.

Yes but the main thing is the engine should be unloaded to reduce drivetrain shock. It should momentarily kill power. My vette cut ignition briefly which resulted in a loud backfire with each nls shift
