I never found positive confirmation but I know for a fact AA uses BT since it has to be on to work. Obviously that would be how it handled calls and voice commands but I couldn't find anything to prove it didn't use it for music apps as well. The way it handles pausing music for voice/calls also seems to be just like BT. But BT will never handle the size of the data stream needed for AA to work anyway. Wireless AA is going to use some form of WiFi (likely WiFi Direct) whenever it comes.

Interesting point...you're suggesting that, even though we have the phone plugged in, AA may be using BT for audio streaming, not just for phone call audio. Wonder if anyone on the forum can confirm?

If so, I'll be a bit surprised...When I run my audio apps, the sound is outstanding. MUCH better than radio or XM.

I searched the XDA and other Android forums but never found an answer. I have no doubt it sounds better than FM and XM (especially XM with its crappy compression). Pandora and Google Music can both stream at high bit rates.

Has anyone personally confirmed on their own phone and car that 4.27.0.1 will mirror to the Camaro screen?

Yep! Right after I post that the beta is available to everyone, I find out that, today, the beta test is complete and the product has been released on the Play Store. Now everyone can use Waze with Android Auto!

Unfortunately, display of speed limits is coming in a future update. Everything else is working great so far!

I really like how you don't have to "send" traffic/police/hazard updates...for example, as soon as you select Hazard > On Shoulder > Vehicle Stopped, it sends. On the phone app, there's one more step (hit send button). Better!

Yeah, I updated while at work and tried it on the way home last night (v 27.04.1) and it worked great.

That's good to hear about the reporting with one less input. There is SO MUCH traffic on my morning commute that I am never the first one to come across anything, so I have yet to make a report.

Was excited to see this was just wondering when it would go live!

Noticed there's no option in the AA version to adjust alerts, is that correct? I normally have directions silenced and only police reports active for my work commute, but if I want directions to play in android auto do I need to disconnect and adjust in the mobile app?

You need to open the app just on the phone and set the options you want. When using AA, it doesn't give you all the settings.

Not necessary. You can set the alerts only or full sound on or off from the 8" MyLink screen. Just touch the bottom-right part of the ETA window and you'll find the settings options easily.

You'll need to do it with a route selected. I found that once I've set it for alerts only (my preferred mode), I also get alerts when just driving with Waze open on screen but no route selected.

Silly question but what app do I need to download in order for AA to pickup my music I have stored on the microsd of my phone? I plug it in and can't seem to find how to open my music on the big screen.

Try MD Player. I personally have my personal music collection uploaded to Google Play Music so I can listen to it anywhere.
