How Close Can 1SS Get to Mustang GT pricing?
It's easy to get a new Mustang GT (non-Premium) for $30K. How close can you get a new 1SS price to that? I can't seem to find anything to get me down there, even using the $1000 bonus cash, and the $1500 loyalty discount available right now. I'm on a budget, and like to order a 2018.

I got my A8 for 31k stickered for 43k. Of course that was with a steep discount.
Haggle and see what you get. The cars are selling much better than they were at this point last year, so you they may not budge much. If you're looking at a Mustang though the 18 MY is getting a redesign and a power bump. Might be better to wait. |

Wow! $31K for a $43K car, that's some discount!
Thanks for the tip on the 2018 Mustang. I was going to wait until 2018 for a Camaro or Mustang anyway. I've always been a GM guy, and it's going to be pretty hard for Ford to beat that Alpha chassis, so the Camaro is my first choice. Michael |

You will really need to shop around even plan to head out of state to purchase. Dealing in person will net you a better discount in most cases (not all but most).

Good idea about shopping around, and going out of state.
Are there any big dealers that give big discounts? For Corvettes, there are a few dealers that sell large volumes of Corvettes that have great prices. Michael |

Search new on Autotrader. I'm in SoCal and find new '17s 1SS with npp for $34-35k. So about $5k more than a comparable Mustang.

Just checked AutoTrader. The lowest I see Camaros for around here are $34K. Mustangs I see for just over $28K. Huge difference.

I was in the same boat, I saw a ton of v8 Mustangs for 26-34k, you can even get them supercharged with a warranty and different power levels from a dealer here in Houston (I forget which).
And while I love older Ford diesel trucks, and previously had a 300C SRT8 that I loved, for the most part I am a loyal GM guy. But losing Pontiac put me in a tough position because I've never been a Chevy guy...I still couldn't go to the dark side with Ford, the Camaro is just a better car hands down. The only thing I thought I would hate is the visibility in the 6th gen, but I came from 3rd/4th gens, once I got into the 6th gen I couldn't figure out what everyone was complaining about - I guess they didn't have previous experience with the F-Body cars. Back seats weren't even a thought, F-Bodies have never had functional rear seats. I didn't want a 2017, I wanted the first 6th gen model year, so I did some hunting. It took me about 3 weeks, and I found one that had the options I wanted. I bought my 2016 2SS in Garnet Red, with NPP, 6 speed manual, and dual mode exhaust for 32k. I hate that I suckered myself into another car payment, but I certainly do not regret getting a 6th gen over a Mustang or Charger/Challenger! You might have to wait until closer to the end of the year to get a really good deal, I bought mine in September 2016 when they seemed to be trying to get rid of the last of their 2016 stock.

I'm a big Firebird fan, too. I believe I have owned 7 of them. I miss Pontiac.
I agree the Camaro is in a one level up compared to the Mustang and Challenger (both great cars, BTW) when it comes to overall performance. That's a good idea about waiting until September to see if some end of model year specials come up. Michael |

How did you manage that? Best I could do was an MSRP of 47k and I could walk off with it for 39k. Thats because I am a marketing client for the big dealership and we are friends with the GM's family.
