2017 Camaro paint
Visited the dealership yesterday to view my new Hyper Blue SS. Will take delivery when LPO items are installed.
Opened the hood to look at the engine compartment . . . what's with the paint finish on the strut towers?! It looks like they sprayed over some wrinkled residue. Dull, too. My '12 was clear coated over CRT. I typically show my cars at events, this looks lousy flanking the new LT-1. Are they all like this? Should I express my displeasure? |

Yep, I hate it, too. They are all like that from what I've seen. I have no idea why.

They should just move Camaro back to Oshawa and watch all the quality issues disappear...

The towers are cast aluminum, not the typical sheet metal that you see on other cars.
Castings are typically rough and have "casting flash", this is what you're seeing. It's completely normal. I'll take the performance benefits over looks of sheet metal any day. |

Same thing here - yet I've seen a smooth finish on others at car shows. I'm wondering if it's cast aluminum on just cars with MRC or SS models.
