30 hours labor sounds right everyone? Had motor in previous car removed, rebuilt and put back for less hours than this quote.

So the smart thing to do is go ahead and get the supercharger and snout ported and put a bigger TB since they will have to remove it anyways. I’m looking at Katech porting and their 103mm TB, would this be a good choice??

I would go with Kong, Jokerz, or Modern Airflow Dynamics for the porting. I went with Katechs for the TB buy a Nick Williams will do fine as well.

Looking at the price list again you may wan to shop around a bit more and do some research. I’ll let you in on what I’m doing for under 10k.

Cam using Cammotion and Brian Tooley parts
Ported SC
103 TB
RF Big Gulp CAI
Meth injection with 2 gallon trunk tank
Cordes expansion tank
ECU and trans tune on dyno and street
Rear diff flush
Everything installed for less than 10k. You’re about 3500 from that number. Something to consider. Also make sure it’s a company that has done this before.

You could buy Rabbitzl1's ported 2650.. way over 13k for 9500.00 Here's a break down I did same build.

4800.00 to 5500.00 Eforce 2650
1300.00 porting
900.00 for 112mm TB
150.00 TB adapter
700.00 for rails and labor to make use of the port injection
1700.00 ID 1300 injectors
1300.00 Holley ECU
2600 plus FORE fuel system..

More than 13k that not including tax or shipping stuff back n forth!

Just a thought!

You could save upwards of 4 to 500 sourcing the parts your self with a 10 off at summit or something..

the tune should be about 650 to 700 including the credits unless it free retunes if you change pulleys ect... I've seen that before.

labor s fair per hour but I doubt they will take 30 hours.. I've seen shops drop the motor less than 4 hours..

sounds like a fun build..

you'd probably make more power with the port injection or the XDI fuel system and bigger blower if it matters. I know a lot people just do it for the chop.

I was going to go with a similar budget to this but could not justify the extra time it would take shipping things back and forth and the cost was a bit more than needed. If I have to make more than 800whp then that is what I would have done. For me anything over 720whp is plenty. But then again power is addictive.

To me this seems cheap compared to speed shops around the DFW area, where they are charging 140+/hr for labor. Yes, 30 hours for cam is excessive, but their labor rate is reasonable. I have been quoted $5k for a cam swap so this seems reasonable. And these cars aren't cheap to tune with the required credits.

Sounds right, except I wouldn't bother with doing the lifters and studs unless you plan on going with big boost or lots or RPM.

Nothing wrong with the stock lifters, and it will save you a boatload of labor not having to remove the heads.

So looking at all of this, would the best bet be to just put all the money towards a different supercharger? I’m looking at the E-force and the Whipple one, are these just a bolt on supercharger and it’s good to go or is there any supporting mods I would still need to get?

I would go with the Eforce or Magnusson 2650. Low side fuel system or voltage booster and Headers. No clue how much HP you’ll make but it’ll be cool anyway

They both bolt on. May require mods, but that depends on your goals.
The E-force 2650 requires modifying the hood cowl.
I think this is the reason most choose the Maggie 2650.
