We're still at a loss of why its losing crank signal. The harness from ms3 isn't shielded so im going to be doing that and if it does it again, I'm going to step up to holley

Ordered a ton of parts. Should have a motor in it and making passes in the next couple weeks.

Got a balanced rotating assembly from cnc motorsports.
K1 crank 4" stroke
K1 rods
Je pistons with upgraded wrist pins
Clevite bearings
Works out to 12.1:1 compression
Moroso 20143 oil pan kit
Ls9 headgaskets
C7r timing chain
Melling 10296 pump

Going to reuse my heads, lifters, pushrods, and rockers.

I found going through my logs that I started losing crank sync on the dyno after I put the brisk plugs in. Gonna throw ngks back in and make a hit or 2 on the street to verify that was the issue before I jump the gun and buy a crank trigger

Cnc motorsports got ahold of me and said the je pistons are 3-4 weeks out so I canceled the order from them and ordered everything from summit.

Only difference is the pistons are not je, they're wiseco. These will give me 12.1 compression.

Also picked up a set of johnson 2116lsr lifters from katech.

Picked up a lsx block and all the covers, along with a set of ca625 head studs. Reached out to frankenstein about head pricing. Looks like im going all the way lol

EDIT:
set of frankenstein f310s and stock ls7 rockers with che bushings have been ordered

Also ordered a set of oliver I beams. Cant have a $650 set of rods in a $3500 block.

Dropped everything but the pistons off at the machine shop yesterday. Theyre showing up today and I just have to make the hour drive over again to drop em off.

The 325 atomizer came in. Still figuring out placement. Thinking about putting it in the volute

Went ahead and drilled/tapped the volute. Injector fits perfect in it. Have the ev1 connector coming for it.

Completely forgot about it being low impedance injector so had to order a fueltech 8/2 peak and hold driver box.

Only thing left to get for the motor is a sfi flexplate and pushrods whenever I measure for them

Lower iats and actually increases the compressor map flow. So i should be able to get a little more out of the charger

While I'm waiting on the shortblock to be finished I want to ditch the manual steering and go back to the stock rack. Not impressed at all with the steering feel of the foxbody rack.

So since I no longer am able to put the factory pump/accessories back on i picked up a volvo s40 electric power steering pump to run the rack. Theyre very inexpensive and are a simple 3 wire hookup. I have to lower my steering rack mounts about 2" for the steering shaft to clear the headers

Fueltech driver box showed up. Been working on mounting the factory rack back up. Got it all tacked up and steering shaft made.

Got the power steering 100% done and it works flawless.

Drilled into the new fed valve covers and mounted a set of motion raceworks billet breathers. Mounted a 3 gallon fuel cell in the trunk for a catch can. Reason being if a hole gets burnt in a piston and pressurizes the crankcase, the contents of the oil pan are going to the catch can. So it's good practice to have at least oil pan capacity for it.

Machine shop called Wednesday to say that one of the oliver rods pulled threads backing a bolt out for the first time. Got a hold of summit racing and they sent me a new set no questions asked and should be here today. Im going to run them over to the shop as soon as i get them and they say motor should be ready for pickup this afternoon or Monday. Fingers crossed.

Machine shop was awesome to work with. Ups showed up at 3pm with the new set of rods, I made the hour drive, getting there about 415. They finished the motor while i waited and was out of there by 5pm.

Main and rods are .003 clearance and .0055 ptw clearance

Got it unloaded and tapped the dipstick for 1/8 pipe plug. Got both heads on. Torqued the ca 625 center studs to 110 ft/lbs. The oil rail and upper 4 studs you have to use a closed end wrench on and kinda go by feel.

Had to order a woodruff key for the crank gear. Unfortunately, thats the only thing holding me back from sealing it up

... in the end of the valve cover... what a great idea. Week late and a set of valve covers later.
