I probably can. Been trying to hold out... but I'll probably be back up there around tax time for some cams. Still need to load the revised tune you sent me actually lol

Wow 470!! That’s stout So headers are worth roughly 20 rw ?
Working on another possible build on 17 grand sport and we don’t want to mess with trans and torque converter. Pray what’s your thought on what the top end is power wise where the stock driveline is still effective.

On my dyno we will be right around 500rw with Pat's car when we get the headers on. Headers on my car were worth 22/20rw average and 24rw peak before I put the heads on. The stock manifolds and cats are killing his motor. My dyno is notoriously stingy. I just tuned a 1SS with a couple of my bolt ons the other day on it and it only put down 424rw in 5th after tuning. When the guy brought it to me it had been tuned by another local shop and it put down 435rw on their dyno. I put that tune back in the car and it made right around 420rw on my dyno. I got that car to go 11.0's@124+ this weekend as well.

I just got my buddies 17' GS to go 10.90's Saturday with bolt ons and E. We are going for 10.70's with a drag pack and then we are doing heads and shooting for 10.50's with zero compromises to drivability.

I am not sure if I understand your question on the limits of the stock converter and trans.

Its so crazy that it's getting that close to 500whp with no cam and stock heads.

That grand sport is moving! What i was getting at about the trans and converter is how much power does it take before the drivability and durability go away Is it only Really needed once you have a strong cam package and anything short of that fine with stock trans/converter.

What tire/wheel set up is that guy running with the 1SS? I hate that I missed the Rock Saturday. Didn't know they were TNT'ing or I would have come down. I gotta work this Saturday and leave for vacay the following Saturday......

Any suspension mods when you try to go for the 10.5? Or just wheels and tires?

Longevity is in the tune. There really isn't a limit to what the trans can hold if tuned correctly. You just won't get the performance out of your package needed when protecting the trans. There are Vette and Camaro guys running 8's on the stock trans. That is the conundrum with N/A guys.
We need every hp we make to hit the rear tires. The F/I guys have enough power to play with. Plus these A8's are fairly new and we are missing tables to tune them properly. Guys are getting a handle on them and parts are coming out for them.

He was running my Race Star drag pack. I am running 27.5's up front and 305's in the rear.

There won't be any suspension mods done to the cars.

I forgot he's in an automatic. I'm sure I would need a bias tire for my manual. Dang I hate that I missed Rockingham.... I forgot to ask what bolt ons? I assume ported IM/TB.

Gah. Making me want to break warranty even more everyday. Lol. Especially since you're fairly close to me...

Is the tune a flex tune that allows whatever e content? I have ethanol close to me but still around 30 minutes from me. Is the rotofab that much more favorable over the gm performance (I already have it)?

Just do the ported IM/TB and tune. Then you can flash back to stock if you have to take it in to the dealer. Yea there is a flash counter in the ECM, but most dealerships are looking for the stock tune because they have to send it out to GM for warranty coverage or so I heard. Honestly I think most of what gets posted is BS and it really all depends on the dealership you use. Supposedly One guy had a warranty voided over a catch can others have done heads/cam with custom tunes and their dealership left warranty in tact...so it appears to be a huge gray area.

To answer your question, yes flex tune allows you to run either 93, E85, or both mixed. The sensor reads the E content and the ECM adjusts for it.

Jenetty Racing stated that the GM and RotoFab are within a couple HP of eachother but the RF has the advantage.

The tune is a flex tune so you can run what ever percent or mix you want.

I have not tested the GM but have been contacted by three different people who were working with VERY competent tuners that all lost hp with it. One gained 11rw going back to stock. It was causing their tuners all sorts of issues.

In my personal testing on three different vehicles the RF with a Dry filter gained 10-14rw in back to back to back testing. I will say that the Oiled filter didn't do so hot. Looking at the top of the lists as well I believe the majority of us are running RF's with dry filters.
