Does Ported Throttle Body Help?

Just wondering if a ported throttle body will help with forced induction cars?

Is it worth the hassle of the change out & cost of say $300?

It will help if you're looking to squeeze every last drop of horsepower out of your car. Like if you were a professional drag racer but for the most part you'll never notice the difference.

*disclaimer, this is only my opinion

If it's $100 bucks and you swap it out yourself, would you do it?

I did it once and had problems with part throttle driving and ended up buying a new factory one. Stay with factory throttle! My two cents!

I would save your money and put it toward a better proven MOD.

From what i have read, and seen on dyno testing, there isn't much gain to be had with the T/B swap on FI... The Blower/Turbo will push the air through just fine. Like above said, you might encounter driveabilty issues on part throttle driving in some rare cases. Now a custom sheet metal intake might see a difference, or going from a old school LS1 intake to a FAST intake, but the newer intakes and such are flowing pretty good. Hell, even the catalytic converters on our cars are so efficient, that the gains seen by removing them are marginal, but the real gain by removing them is the sound level increase.

Forgot to add.....the above info is geared towards centrifugal units that blow through the TB, no units like a roots style that suck through, i have no experience testing those.

The throttle body on the Camaro has a Parabolic bore, this allows a very small percentage of the blade to be exposed during tip in and parking lot driving. Honing out the bore will only makes the vehicle drive worse. GM spent allot of time and money perfecting the 90mm TB that you guys have on your cars, do not throw that out of the window for a "perceived" 3 HP gain. Save your money.

LS1 TB's are different, so please do not confuse the two and make the mistake with your LS3 Throttle Body.

Yep....LS2 IS DIFFERENT THAN LS3 AS WELL.

Ported throttlebodys do work,re machined throttlebodys(Made larger bore and venturi than stock) can have issues.

Correctly ported throttlebody would basically be smoother than stock with the blade shaft smooth down to help flow over it.

Re-machined are generaly made larger, larger butterfly, venturi change...as blown chevy said.

This is what I had done [mentioned in my original post] and messed up my driveability and ended up buying a new one.
