Angry I need your thoughts, ASAP

So I called my chevy dealer the other day, talked to the guy who sold me my car. I told him I wanted to get Black Chevy emblems for my car because I want to get it blacked out, well he told me they would order them and I went in today to have scratches fixed, and the guy there told me "We just paint over the gold" mind you not this is the accessories manager of the dealership. Well I thought well, okay fine. Got home, the emblems look very nice, but then I thought, hmmmm can I peel this paint off with my finger? Sure enough, I could if I wanted to, the guy charged me $160 god damn dollars for that, which money isn't an issue unless I got bullshitted.

Has anyone got their emblems done at the dealership? Do they actually remove the gold ones and replace them with real black ones, or is this how they actually do it? Did I get robbed, because if so I'm going back and causing the biggest scene ever, especially since I paid cash for this god damn car.

I had my emblems painted black at a local shop here. It was like $40 and they did a great job. It's been about a year and it still looks perfect. $160 for Chevy to paint it is a joke. I think you got screwed. I don't know if you can blame the dealer but paying $160 for painted emblems is a rip off.

I had my dealer paint the front and rear bowties black as well as paint the ZL1 logos on the wheels and the bowties in the center of the wheels.

14,000 miles later they are holding up perfectly.

Just called the customer care manager, and he said it's not area of expertise, but I told him I am not satisfied at all. He said maybe they do paint them and it's just a bad paint job, or they do replace them and something went wrong and he said he will call me back tomorrow and we will come to a resolution I AM happy with.

Fact is, I don't want my god damn car at Chevy ALL DAMN DAY again. If they did a shitty paint job, I want it re-done the right way, if that's infact how they do it. And yes, I know $160 to paint logos is insane, I just thought hell the dealership will do a better job than anyone and money isn't an issue, sure enough I'm not pleased with it AT ALL.

Why not just buy an emblem yourself off of eBay they are very cheap and really easy to install I think a black one was 32 dollars for both
Replacement emblem

Here are overlays that work just as well

Remove and install here:

Can't you just return them and get your money back?

I was told they were gonna do the real chevy emblems until I showed up! That's what I want, not some cheap ass painted chevy logos on my god damn 30 thousand dollar car! I'm furious with them, so if I have to buy the god damn chevy logos and have them install it and get my money back, that's what I'm doing.

I had all the chrome parts painted matte black at a private shop. They have to use special printer for it to stick. Very reasonable prices, if you are interested, I can get you his name.

PS I have never seen any emblems for Chevy in any color other than what comes on the cars. All the other colors are painted, vinyl or dipped.

Depends, I live in Arizona, so not sure if they have shops all around or not. Plus, I already dished out $160 today so if they don't fix this, I'm going to have a coming apart.

Do they have black chevy emblems for the 2014 out yet?? You shouldnt have let the chevy dealership paint your emblems for $160 when you could have done it yourself for under 10 bucks. Also paint takes time to be durable, if your scraping it with you finger nail as soon as you got home no wonder it would flake off.

So I bought my body color painted replacements from RPI Designs. My car happens to be black. I'm 99% sure they are stock replacement parts painted over. So whatever they did to them as far as primer or what I don't know, but they are chrome on the back. Further, they've held up well. After a year they still look good. I was worried about the front as it would take the abuse of bugs and what not, but the paint is okay. I've washed the car many times and haven't been worried about the paint peeling.

Maybe the point is that well painted chrome and gold bowties aren't necessarily a bad thing. I'm not saying that's what you got though, I don't know.
