If the car is to be a 2016 model, then I'm a bit surpised we have not yet seen anything on the car, or a mule. So I don't really doubt the possibility of a late 2015 availability date, or even spring 2016 as a late 2016 model or early 2017 model.
But I think if possible at all, it would be pretty wise of GM to "accidentally" let something of the 6th gen slip out into the public around the time of the 2015 Mustang order date. I'm not talking a teaser shot (too early for that) but maybe get a mule out there and "let" a few spy photographers get a shot or two. That could make some potential Mustang buyers think twice.

Mules? You mean the Cadillac ATS coupe with Gen6 Camaro tweaks to the powertrain/suspension? That could be seen on your commute into work.

I think we'll see it - or hints of it - right before the new Mustangs start hitting the lots.

yeah...I'm watching for it myself. I bet we are looking at January 2015 for the Detroit Auto Show...orders starting in April 2015 for arrival Summer/Fall 2015 as a 2016.
and I think this is a hint at the footprint and weight...maybe a tad lighter due to less Cadillac more Chevy. http://www.cadillac.com/future-cars/...%20ats%20coupe

I have to believe GM at least has test mules already. I found this on another forum. Don't know how true this is...

I agree. While it's possible the Camaro will shed some weight by having fewer bells and whistles than the ATS, it's also possible that it could weigh more by using fewer lightweight components (for cost). It's also possible that it could be more CTS-sized than ATS-sized. Personally, I'd prefer the smaller size, but who knows what direction GM will go on this.

I made a decision to for go the vette decision for myself. I will either play with this V I got at a high horsepower level or I will get a 6th gen on order as soon as avail to do so. The V is tempting after I got a lead on a LSA with sub 10k for a good price. LOL

Just because we haven't seen any test cars yet doesn't mean they don't exist.
