Not worth arguing over here. (or on mustang sites either) the same guys saying it looks exactly like a fusion coupe are porbably the same guys that said the SS sedan looks nothing like a Malibu or Impala lol

"They must need glasses"....seriously? Now...I've posted this up in another thread so I'll do it again here. I'm not saying I think the new Mustang is horrible looking. I'm not saying it didn't get any design ques (even the front) from the previous Mustang, because I see those similarities too, but the Fusion redesign came just before the Mustang redesign, so its only natural to compare to it when they look so close. This is the new Ford design language.

With that in mind, here....I'll help you get the comparisons. All I'm saying is I think it is a mistake to make it look like a coupe version of your family sedan. Not everyone will agree.

I can get what KMP is saying, but in my eyes, I see way more of the current mustang in the 15 than I do fusion. That is what my eyes see. I can see the similarities though, they both have a similar grill shape and the split look between the upper and lower grill. Where the fog lights are located is similar. BUT the 13/14 Mustang had that grill shape too.

I can see people saying its similar but in my eyes it clearly looks more Mustang than fusion to me. To me its not such a huge departure from the 13/14 cars. Look at the pictures that Khell86 posted, you can easily see the similarities between the 13 and the 15. IMO if you stuck the fog lights in the grill people wouldn't make the fusion comparison at all.

Like I said, i can also see the similarities with teh Fusion. It's the people that say they don't see Mustang at all that I have a bit of a hard time with

While I agree that they took design cues from the 2015 mustang and applied them to the new fusion, I think it was a great idea. The 2014 fusion is one of the best looking sedans currently on the market. To say though that people will confuse these 2 with each other though is untrue. Theres no mistaking which one is the mustang.

I like the 2013 SS camaros and the 2013 Mustangs...imo best looking two cars from their lineup... eva. From far away the 2015 mustang looks like a fusion, you have to see it up close to distinguish it. Saw it at the Southern Cal auto show and was impressed with the interior, exterior I thought

Still looks like too much front and rear overhang. There looks like a lot of dead weight hanging out on both ends.

I was at this same show in Louisville, and I agree no one seemed to care about the 2015 mustang. Now the 2015 F150 was another story

I saw it at the NY Show yesterday and I thought it looked good. The interior looks nice, The doors were locked since they were prototypes.
Seemed to be a big crowd around it. (but then again it is NY, There are crowds around every car) I think Ford could have had a better display since it was the 50th anniversary.
Here is the anniversary addition, Only 1964 of these will be made.

And speaking of displays, GM had one whole room to themselves and I found it kind of lacking, Felt like going into a big showroom.
And whatever happened to giving out good swag, Nothing but brochures.
Also Mazda had a bunch of Racing Miata's lined up with signs saying do not touch and women near each car wearing yellow and purple, telling people not to touch the cars, and practically yelling at kids not to touch. You would think they would have roped them off.
Rant over.

I'm anxious to see these on the road and try one out.

Comparing the styling to the Fusion isn't the worst thing I've ever heard about a car. I don't agree but whatever.

What a poor color choice for the show circuit.

And they tried too hard to make the new Mustang look mean. It looks perturbed.

I saw that.....that is actually pretty sweet. I'll give the Mustang props on that one. I mean....its not something I'd likely use much, but I'm just more surprised Ford actually got something like this past legal lol.
