18" Tires for Daily Driver

Hello all,

I have the 2016 Camaro LT V6 Manual with the 18" wheels and my tires are low at 40,000 miles. The stock tires were Goodyear Eagle Sport All-Season 245/50 R18. They were a great compromise between wear life and performance.

I don't race, but I love to drive in a spirited manner. I drive allot though and need a tire that will last. I'm tempted to buy another set of the Goodyears, but is there another tire that I should be considering?

Thank you!
Whiskey

With a V6 I wouldnt do it , reprogramming all sensors , vehicle will have an oversteer/loose condition and handling will be compromised.

???
OP, get on tirerack and search by the car you have. And then read reviews. Also there’s a tire and wheel section on this site. Not much love for the lower end models though.

Personally I'd go with either the BFG g-Force Comp-2 A/S or the General G-MAX AS-05 in 255/45/18.

I re read this post , sorry I just checked , it has factory 18 inch wheels. Im used to the factory 20 inch wheels.

I thought for a second you were doing a rim conversion from the 20 to the 18s

With that being said , I would recommend Nitto G2's

I have the 20" RS wheels. They ride incredibly rough. I found a set of takeoffs- four 18" OEM wheels and tires with 200 miles on eBay for less than the cost of 2 new tires. I put them on and the ride is much more comfortable. I haven't noticed any handling issues.

Have a 2017 V6. Ride is OK, but road noise seems high. Is this normal? Tires came with the car, 6 months old.

If you have the 20"s, yes they are pretty loud.

Thank you for the tips everyone!!! That tire rack suggestion was a fantastic one, it gives me a great way to compare my options.

I have the exact same car, same tires etc. They do a great job for everything the car can do. Run the same tires. If you use any type of performance tire, you will be disappointed during the colder months.

Tirerack tested the OEM tires back in '16.

The OEM tires are considered a high performance all-season. Better to get an ultra high performance all-season for the same money.

Well OP lives near San Diego and they really don't get cold/snow. So OP could go with an actual Summer tire and get a huge increase in grip without worrying about the Winter.
