ZL1 Rock Guards

What is the most recommended rock guards for a ZL1? I am getting PPF done in a week, but trying to make sure I have the most protection from road junk as possible.

Functional + Cosmetic + $$ = ACSComposite
Functional + $ = ZL1Addons

I already bought the car. Have paint correction, PPF, ceramic, and tint scheduled. I don't think cost matters at this point.

I've had ZL1 addon rock guard's on for nearly 3 years with no complaint's. Driven on dirt roads for years and track the car a few times a year. They have done well.

Don't expect ZL1Addons to stand behind their products if you have any issues. Won't ever do business with them again.

I put ZL1 Addons rock guard on 2 wide body Challengers and ordered them for my ZLE.

Zero issues, and they did the job.

Effective and low cost = $15 universal mud flap. Works like a charm. ZL1 Addons on the front are much too short. You can go with what's effective or looks good the two things are different. These work but you trade off some of the aesthetics or looks and then some people need instructions with a full installation solution and hardware, too. It's a real toss up.
If you send me a PM I'll show you my setup.

I have ZL addons front and rear. The fronts mostly hold on double sided tape and screwed into place at the very bottom, which for me personally resulted in mid-top part coming off together with the tape. I have to redo the tape every now and then, esp. when it’s rain season.

I’ve had ZL1 Addons (fronts only) for almost six years. Not a single problem with them.

I really don’t think you need rear splash guards. In six years of ownership, I don’t have a single rock chip behind either rear wheel.

I put Rokblokz ZL1 splash guards on my ZLE. No drilling required and no tape required, so they can be removed and returned to original. I only used the fronts and they aren’t quite wide enough for the tires on a ZLE, but I think they would be on a ZL1.

Just wanted to note that I had a positive customer service experience with ZL1Addons.

The tape pulled away on one of the front rock guards on my 2016 because I had neglected to install the metal clip in the hole cut in the rock guard. ZL1Addons sent me replacement 3M tape, cut to fit, for both front rock guards. Not only did they do so free of charge, they included two extra sets of tape in case the problem occurred again.

It didn't. There were no issues with the rock guards after I replaced the 3M tape and correctly installed the metal clips. I had around 40K miles of satisfaction with their rock guards before I sold my 2016, and this was one of the first things I added to my 2021 RS.

I spent the money with the ACS versions front and rear, I am happy with them. I didnt like the spacers and gaps the ZL1 add ons have.

yes $400 for rock/splash guards....
They really match well and sort of blend in with the OEM black on the car

I dont think you can go wrong with either ones, just get them on there and PPF

For PPF I did
Full Hood
Full Bumper
Full Splitter
Full Fenders
A Pillars
PARTIAL Roof ( to moonroof ) NA on your vert
Full side skirts
Lower part of doors
Panel in front of rear tire
Mirrors (backs)
Door Jams ( high scuff area from shoes)
Door cups

and 20% tint
$3000

I spoke to the guy about PPF on Tuesday, and that was his recommendation unless I wanted full body. With the vert, I was going to do the full section around the windshield.

The hold up I have on getting things started is looking out the back window looks like a fun house mirror. There is a line about 2-3 inches up from the bottom. Anything in that section is either stretched or shrunk. I had the same issue on my 2016 after a top replacement, and they had to replace the top a second time to correct it. Not a fan of thinking about that on a car I just bought on 10-03-22.
