Order status

I ordered my 2SS 6M on Aug 17 and my status is still 1100 (GM has not officially accepted my order.) My dealer is good, they did not require any deposit and did not add markup or fluff. He said it could be any day that it gets to 3000 status. My question is should GM have already accepted my order if my dealer has allocation, or, since GM has not accepted, does that definitively mean that my dealer does not have allocation and there's a realistic possibility that I may not get my car, or, could it actually be any day that it moves to 3000 status? I read on GM Authority that Camaro sales are up quite a bit as compared to last year, so I'm concerned that if Chevy has a fixed production amount are those going to be destined for their volume dealers? Are there any specific questions I should ask my dealer so as to cut through the smoke? I don't want to be confrontational but just want facts/reality.

Thanks

Your order is subject to two variables. First, does your dealer actually have an allocation. Second, is what you ordered subject to any current constraints. Even if your dealer has a Camaro allocation, GM won't pick up the order if for example a 2SS is under constraint.

Many people who have ordered Camaros are having to wait 6 to 8 months to get their cars. Another option is to do what I did and look for a car that is similar to what you ordered that is in transit and not spoken for. Sometimes you can find what you are looking for that way and get it quicker. The more options you have though, the harder it may be to find.

Thanks, ZP.
My dealer said my Vivid Orange build isn't unusual. So, it sounds like I will definitely get the car, it just may take more than 3-4 mo, which is what I was initially given as an approx ETA. Options are:

Magnetic Selective Ride
Ceramic white seats
Performance exhaust
Nav
5-split spoke silver painted wheels

I put in an order at my local small town dealer, and they didn't require a deposit. Then, after waiting 3-4 months for an allocation, they never got one, so I jumped on a pre-existing dealer order that was already at 3400 status from a dealer 400 miles away. I had my car within a couple weeks, and the original order didn't get picked up by the time I got my Camaro. I cancelled it before it ever got past 1100 status. You will have better luck at a higher volume dealer, but sometimes the larger dealer will have more BS add-ons.

You are welcome. I'd say you would be lucky to get your car in 3 to 4 months from ordering it. Especially since it has been almost 2 months since you placed your order and you are still at 1100. Shipping has also been an issue for GM and that has caused delays for cars that have been built.

There is a constraint thread on the forum which is updated periodically regarding what models and options are on constraint. Here is the link.

Mine took 10+ months. Started as a 2020, ended up as a 2021.

I'm now in order status 2030 - "Order Edited by Chevrolet". Any idea what 'edited' means? I've sent a note to my salesman as well.
