Killed a 2012 Boss 302 and it's cocky driver with my Stock L99 SS :)
Both our times were nothing too impressive, track prep was awful and the air had a average humidity of 88%. So not a great night for record times.
This run was kinda funny because during conversation with him and his girl before we ran, he started to lecture me how Ford makes the best engines and most HP per liter, while Chevy and Dodge are in the past and need huge engines just to make less power, blah blah blah. Even though I was nothing but respectful and complimented his car. Well apparently the best engines in the world wont make up for their drivers. I ran 13.5 @ 105 mph, his Boss went 13.6 @113 mph, I crossed the finish line .8033 seconds before he did. My car is a bone stock 2012 L99 SS. The Boss had exhaust and cold air intake, that I know for sure. His car was loud as hell, I don't know if he had headers, high flow cats or the anything else, I didn't ask. I just saw the car in the lanes with the hood up. But didn't stick my head way into the engine bay or under the car. I beat him on the tree, his reaction time was slower. Even though I had traction issues I think he had it worse. Past the 1/8th I looked in my rear view expecting to see him coming up fast but he was way back there and never got close to me by the end of the 1/4. Always nice to beat a faster car. After the run I pulled off the access road on the way back to the lanes to wait for a friend who ran after us. He drove by and revved the shit out of his car, guess he wasn't happy getting sacked in front of his girl like that. I was number 12 in the left lane. Boss's are hard as hell to launch, combine that with a cocky driver who is completely convinced of his own invulnerability and you've got yourself a prime set up for a lopsided win.
Good kill! I'm sure he had all kinds of excuses why it was the CAR that lost that race and not HIM. |

Yeah his reaction and 60ft needs some driver mod lol. Awesome kill for sure. I drove a buddy's 13 model down the 1/8 mile and got an 8.3x in it so they do have some balls stock.

I don't think I've ever even seen a 2.5 60ft on a slip irl and I've raced some 15-16 second cars

Reaction time has no impact on E.T.s or trap speed. It was that 2.5 60ft that led to the loss by the Boss.

Dont know about your track but the way my track records the reaction time on the slip, your .304 was a red light and he technically won
Edit-i take that back. My track used to write out the rt time as a .500 light was a perfect light, but im looking at a friends slip from a few months ago and now a .000 is perfect my bad Either way, a 2.5 60' is horrific. The mph is a low 12 on dr's |
