It is ultra conservative IAT retard timing. So once the car sees any heat from the blower, it pulls timing. So in a way it is heat soak, or IAT timing. Call it what you want. Either way it loses a lot of power after a few pulls.
I see no reason why this wouldn't land up in the new ZL1 or equivalent, but that is probably 2 years out. First you will get a gen 6 camaro, then a year later probably a zl1. That being said, LSA motors can make 640hp with tune/headers/intake easy enough.

Seeing as the CTS-V sedan, wagon and coupe have been sporting 556hp for several years now, it is the Hellcat Charger that is playing catchup (the 300 just called it quits). The V3 may have less power but it will also weigh 500lbs less and come with wider rubber. Ultimately these cars are not cross shopped as one is a luxury car and the other is a mainstream brand.

I figured it was going to get a detuned LT4. Pretty cool.

Nice... so if the ZL1 ends up with 24 more hp than the V like the last LSA, then count on about 664 hp.... If they can pull about 400 pounds off the current ZL1 platform this will be very impressive.

I would bet that the ZL1 gets the same 640, maybe 650 since the vette is only doing 650. Who knows, maybe they bump the power on all the models after a year or two.

Not to mention after these motors have been around for a few years and the aftermarket does their magic. Wouldn't surprise me if the LT4 is easy to get 800 peak numbers out of with a few tweaks and bolt ons. |

My spouse and I have been discussing a four-door for months now. This car goes to the top of the list.

It would surprise me since they are going to be far more blower limited than the other. With a blower swap, sure. Vengance has already done 660rwhp on a c7z, but they are saying the blower is already maxed out at that level. They are hoping with heads/cam/meth to crack 700rwhp, but that is all the 1.7L has in it.
LSA/LS9 make plenty of low end, enough to make traction just about nonexistant, so adding more low end to a PD blown v8 to me gets to the point of being silly.
