Roll Control going in MSD 2 Step going back

I am a little annoyed at Jegs. I ordered a new Hurst Roll Control kit and a MSD 2 step. After reading on this board about Pumpkin's issues with the 2 step I was hesitant to buy one but thought maybe he just had a bad one. Has anyone actually gotten one of these to work without causing engine misfires?

Apparently these get returned a lot. Because the one they sent me is definitely used. I thought something might be wrong because the box was plain brown. Then when I looked at it the instructions are wrinkled and the plugs are greasy like somebody with dirty hands was installing it at some point. It wasn't even on sale so no reason I see for getting a returned item.
