"Build sheets" - do they still exist?

Wondering, is there something as the build sheets of old still in existence, or have computers completely replaced the good old "birth certificate"? If they still exist, is there any way to get them? And outside of the US, too?

I can't speak for the 6th gens, but my '15 had the main build sheet and the 2 door line build sheets in the car. Of course I got to the car before the prep guys got to it, so I was able to grab all the paperwork.

But the new build sheets don't look anything like the ones from the '60s and '70s.

And they can't be reprinted.
If someone tells you they can you a build sheet, they're lying. They can get you a list of the options your car came with printed out on a plain piece of paper, but that's all it is.
It will not be the tractor-fed piece of paper with all the codes and time stamps that hangs on the car as it is assembled.

There are usually papers with codes on them when they come off the truck showing the options for the build as it rolls down the line. Problem is, when dealers prep the car for sale, they toss them all save for the window sticker. I'll try and take a picture of the sheet I'm talking about.

^^^^^THAT

Interesting that for my Fifty, the color says 'SONOFGUN' (Sun of a gun gray) instead of Nightfall

Yep! That is about as close to a "build sheet" there is in these cars now if you will.

That's one reason I ordered mine. I've asked the dealer not to PDI or touch the car before I get there.

If you are lucky enough to get your assembly line build sheet keep it safe in good condition.

Mine is specifically ordered, though no telling what all happens with it until it gets to Germany ... but I will instruct the dealer to keep EVERYTHING that comes with the car, except maybe for some lint or dirt But then, it's still quite some time ... :(
