"SS 378" badge - good idea or tacky
I'm thinking of having "SS" and "376" badges made for the front fenders, between the front of the door and front wheels, ala the old muscle car days when SS Chevys had the SS badge and the cu. in. of the engine on the fenders.
You think that's tacky or cool? |

Isn't it a 376?

Pretty sure it's 376.
Just my opinion, but I hate seeing old badges on new cars. I'd do something similar but I'd keep the modern font for the badges.

327, 350, 383, 400, 427, 454 and a few others are the legendary cube values. 376, 378, not so much. Great engine, just no cache in the cubic inch value. If anything the 6.2l moniker has good cache.

Ah yes, 376 cu.in. = 6.16 liters, rounded up = 6.2 Thanks, duly noted and corrected! |

I like the idea for hi/po models like Mopar does with the 392, however if they decide to do that everyone will get all butt hurt thinking that GM is copying Mopar. Even though its been done since they've been putting big motors in cars.

I wish car companies stuck with the cubic inches though. |

I don't think its tacky, but I am just not sure it would look right on a newer car

Your car - your choice. I will probably remove the factory side badges from mine. I will have to see the car in person before I decide about front and rear badges.

Do with the modern font and I'd be up for it.
Old font on the new car does not work for me...looks awkward. I'm sure EmblemPros or someone like that will be doing this eventually. Not sure that the tiny Camaro Tri-bar on the side does it for me.
