Have you used it? In my experience it is much thicker than regular paint and will fill a chip completely in one application. Because of this it sounds like you are describing a different product or are using it incorrectly.

Yes I’ve used it a lot, just did a splitter a couple weeks ago. although it may hit the paint thicker, it spreads because its thin And why doesn’t fill in a deep gouge or paint chip on the first pass. I use the optional spreader they sell to spread it.
