Thank you for the suggestions everyone. I called them and asked for the ECU report and some history on the vehicle. I took a picture of the window sticker and it said it was delivered to the same dealership I was at. They told me it was transferred to another dealership then transferred back. I asked for paperwork/proof of this and they said they'll get back to me with some info on that and the ECU. There should be a paper trail for dealer transfers, right?
The reason I want this is because its almost the exact setup I want. 2SS, white exterior, white/black leather, performance exhaust, and the split 5 spoke rims. The only other one close to this setup was in Nevada (I'm in the bay area) according to the dealer and that one didn't have the exhaust. The only thing I would change if I ordered one would be adding a front bumper body color lip and swapping out the spoiler for the low profile lip -- same as the 1LE. I can live without those two options, but if it turns out this car was a bit abused, I'd rather order one for a few thousand more. MSRP is ~$46.5k and with incentives and such its lowered to about $40-41k. I don't remember the exact price as I was more worried about them meeting my monthly number. Is that a reasonable price for those options and the mileage the car has? Edit: Planning on keeping the car for at least 5-6 years. |

a "NEW" car should not have 170 miles on her. if you are getting a demo price on the vehicle..not a problem. i would insist on seeing a NEW model instead.

I bought mine with 200 miles on it. 150 was for the dealer transfer to get the car to my dealer and the other 50 were test mile drives at the original dealer. I now have 9500 miles of trouble free time with it. The current oil has 5500 miles on it and the dip stick reads full. It runs like a scalded ape. I have a warranty if anything comes up. 200 miles equals 2% of the miles on it. I never think about those 200 miles until I run across a thread like this. Those miles never did and certainly don't now cause me any loss of sleep.
I disagree with all the paranoia about a 200 mile car with mostly dealer transfer miles being used and abused so much you should run away from the deal. I can't tell you what to do any more than anyone else can though. Good luck with the decision.

I think many of the claimed great deals are for cars with 200 miles on them.

Onstar tracks the vehicle behavior. I see it in my app every week. It shows hard braking. It will show the speed the car traveled and more

200 miles and 1000s and 1000s off, sounds like a good deal to me. 200 miles is nothing.

It's completely up to you. I bought my 2017 50th camaro used with 600 miles on it, and now has 4,000 with zero issues. Got a great deal. I also have a Nissan Maxima I bought "new" 17 years ago, that had been dealer traded, loaned out, and most likely abused for almost a year before we bought it. Got a great deal, and that car still runs like new- never burned any oil for 175,000 miles. I think good maintenance over the long run is more important than the first 200 miles. Change the oil early and don't worry. It's got a warranty!

Bought my 2SS a few weeks back and it had a little over 200 miles on it. Got a great deal and it had (more than) everything I wanted on it. I did have to deal with a bad LPO brake install that was repaired this week, but in terms of driving, I've had no issues.

200 miles is really a non issue. It wouldn't bother me at all. Especially if it's exactly the car you want. Ok look at the rear tires if they show no signs of massive burn outs or drag race launches. You'll be fine.

If these cars can get hurt in just 200 miles then they aren't worth owning. They are built for the track and many owners drive them as hard as their abilities let them all the time. Doubt a salesman or whoever put the miles on it was pushing the car as hard as most of us plan to do when we purchase them.

I found my Camaro online at a dealership that was 240 miles away. My dealership wanted to drive it here, but I insisted they bring it in on a flatbed and they pay for it. The car had 35 miles on it from the original dealership, and that's what it had when I took delivery.

Mine had about 150-200 on it. I'm not at 30k with no issues.

I got mine with 500 miles because the Dealership Owner was personally driving it around town. I wasn't worried about it since I got it during the red tag sale last year and couldn't pass up the deal. Now at 13k miles and only issue I've had was the MyLink screen freezing and they immediately replaced it under warranty.
