What's with all the Stangs?

I went to Cars and Coffee a couple weeks ago and there must have been 10 Mustangs to every Camaro.

I get the allure of the Mustang, my first car was a '65 Coupe and my father had a '64 1/2 convertible but I really think the 5th gen Camaro is so much better looking than the Mustang.

Was it just an off day or are Camaros that less common?

Thats how it is at all the cars and coffees here. Last time's was really cool like 19 GTO's showed up so I guess they made up for the lack of Camaros

As was said, no Camaro for 7-8 years will do that. An entire generation of car guys came of age during a time when Camaros were not around, and those that were around were outdated and old looking. The Mustang has a huge following, is plentiful and can be bought cheaply. They also have a great aftermarket following for mods and parts. Plus, Ford will finance anybody... Got no job? got bad credit? Got evicted? No problem, here are the keys to your new Mustang.

Which all makes me happy. Mustangs are as common as rocks... they are everywhere.. which means they are not nearly as special as Camaros. They do not turn heads like Camaros do... and the new model Mustang is ugly and looks like a large mouth bass.

I can definitely see your point. I loved the first Gen Camaros, 2nd Gen was decent too, but Gens 3 and 4....not so much. Chevy did a great job with Gen 5 and the retro muscle look.

I see the same think at the Cars and Coffee in Greensboro, NC, you will see Mustang after Mustang and just a few Camaros.

no one takes a second look at these cars except for the GT500 and ZL1, Z28 (if one knows what they are looking at otherwise, they just blend right in with the regular Camaro V6 and SS)

Here, the Mustang club is more active than the Camaro group. Also a lot of people that are not enthusiasts bought the Camaro and will just do daily driving in it.

I do agree that Ford is giving car loans to people who shouldn't be getting ones to begin with, going to be a mess if it goes south.
