16 gallon or 19?

Is the sixth gen a 16 or 19 gallon gas tank? I thought Checy said it was 16 gallon. M/T said it was 19.

Check out the specs which are available on the GMMedia site.

MOTOR TREND is not (at least in my experience) known as a best choice resource.

GM Media web site - link ?

I see a 'Specifications' page - but no mention
of the gas tank capacity...?

I'm pretty sure it's 16 gallons.

I think when updated it will show 16 gallons. I believe the same section that shows 19 gallons also shows a 100,000 mile power train warranty. Both are equally accurate.

I should have double checked the specs but I did not. A lesson learned.

The Mustang has a 16 gallon tank. If Gen Six Camaro tank has a 16 Gallon it better have amazing MPG numbers. A smaller tank would be the first disappointment in the new model.

The Gen6 will offer better gas milage over the outgoing 5th gen, but even if not... why would it be a disappointment? More HP, more torque is never a bad thing. Smaller gas tank also means less weight

Jeremy Clarkson drove a Gen 5 Shelby on a Top Gear episode. He loved the car but cited the poor gas mileage and small gas tank as a major flaw. Not that I follow every word that Mr. Clarkson says, but I agree with him for that particular example.

This is 2015, a new generation of Camaro, and so on, range is more an issue to me than mileage. I like to get at least two weeks between fill ups.

The 19 gallon tank was actually part of the reason I bought a Camaro over a Mustang.

I would rather a smaller tank, less weight...just have to fill up more often on road trips, works for me, more stops/detours to show off the car!

If added fuel efficiency gets you the same miles per 16 gallon tank as the 5th gen's 19, I can see why they elected to keep it smaller, though i suppose if the space was available, they should have utilized it, maybe 17 or 18 gallons.

I'm fairly certain it is 16 gal...and I don't care at all that it shrank.
