No, anniversaries celebrate a past event. (in this instance we are celebrating the first Camaro)

Think he was trying to say its a little early to start worrying about a car that won't be out until late 2016.

I'll second that! Had a '97 Grand Prix (the first year of the 'Wide Track' - a whopping 3 inches) Worst car ever!

Swore I'd never own another GM. Glad I didn't keep that promise.

Maybe it'll be worth the wait.

Hyperlink tag? Are you referring to my signature? My sig is a joke posted by a GM exec in reply to speculation about the 6th gen. It's not supposed to work.

The Alpha platform is lighter, sturdier and cheaper. Even Motor Trend reported it will be the basis of the next gen Camaro because it is GM's new rear wheel drive small-to-midsize-car platform. It is used in various Holden cars I believe, and on the Cadillac ATS. And if you use the search you'll be able to weed through what info we have (very little) and what is speculation (95%).

From what I understand they are phasing out the Zeta platform our cars are currently built on. Cheers

This is nothing more than my own personal, stupid opinion, but I can't imagine how they could "improve" the look/body style of the Gen5 Camaro for the Gen6 models. To me, the body style is absolutely perfect. I can completely understand engine, electronics and performance enhancements, but the overall look of the car is perfect in every way. Again, this is just my opinion... But I'm already turning my nose up to the Gen6 Camaro and it doesn't even exist yet.

Correct they said it will be alpha for the reasons you stated

However I don't think it will be several hundred pounds lighter. Perhaps 200, cafe standards will have increased by the time aalpha comes out

I understand it's your opinion, and we're on a 5th gen site so it's going to be the predominant opinion here, but we all have to concede that the "forward visibility" for the 5th gen has turned off many magazines and even fellow FBody enthusiasts... That's one thing the 6th gen could improve on. In addition to forward visibility, I'd like to see C pillar visibility improved. Trying to back out of an angled parking spot is a leap of faith that no one is coming because it's impossible to see around that huge C-pillar

I am going to make a leap of faith, as Soren the Dutch philosopher once stated and say, that GM/Chevy will NOT change the Camaro until after the 50th.

If they do, they best do it for about 2015, as GM/Chevy hasn't had a great history with first year models..........can you see Car&Driver.......: GM hit a home run with its new version, Gen 6 Camaro, just in time for the 50th anniversary..........Too bad, once again GM hit a foul ball with reliability..................

Just saying.
GM hit a home run with the Camaro? Lol go check Consumer Reports, Edmunds all of the car reviews has nothing but good things to say about the 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 Camaro
