30x14x16 M&H cheater slicks to hold up to 1000whp?

Hey guys, I am shooting for 1000whp, but I was wondering if 30x14x16 m&h will fit. Granted my camaro is mini tubbed, but still worried about it squatting and rubbing in the rear. I can always fall back on the 28x14.5x16 hoosiers. I posted this here to hopefully hear from huffer, jrpxxii, supercharged ss, etc.

Well, I'd love to help but my car makes 733 rwhp. I fall a few pomied shy of 1k. But those tires will work if you have the right suspension. All the big guys, (the drag racers you mentioned, even Ted's guy whos has a new user name ever week), have spent big money of a soup to nuts suspension. They all hook it. I'm just getting to the point where drag shocks will start to help. I think I have reached the limit of the stock stuff.

If the track prep is there I can hook a M&H 325/45/17 drag radial tire right now. It's a LOT in the suspension and drivetrain setup, not just the tires. I'm launching around 8psi now, so it's hitting the tire hard. If it is a street prep day, I mine as well not even bother. Went a 1.39 last time out and that's on the footbrake, have not tested the transbrake and full RPM launch yet.

The M&H tire is great that I use, I can only imagine that big width be a great help with the 30" run-out.

The 30" is a huge tire to try and fit under the car even if it is mini tubbed. Lingenfelter is the only car I know running 30" slicks. Im running 29" slicks and they are perfect but a 30" may require even more cutting to prevent rubbing and if Im not mistaken you have to find a nostalgia 30" slick which is what Lingenfelter was running.

Midgard had those M & H 30" tires on his car at one point last year. Since then I think they went back to a more "conventional" size. If you get a set-up like Jason, 15", you'll have some more options in tire size.

Thanks a lot guys. What work is required to run 15" wheels? Im sure 28x14.5x16 hoosier will be better than my current 345/35/18 MTs, but I was just looking for the biggest tire that would be able to fit. Any recommendation on suspension as well? I was looking at the pfadt drag suspension as well as pedders.

There is a kit that can be bought that will allow you to run a 15" rim and then your tire selection is endless to where running a 16" is very limited. The guy that did my cage, chassis and suspension makes custom kits that are direct bolt in and comes with all new rear suspension pieces and brakes to run 15" wheels.

I run Santhuff suspension as it is true drag suspension that all of the professional guys run in nhra events. It is more expensive but it is worth every penny for the quality and adjustability.

Thanks, do you remember the name or website of the kit?

IPS offers a 15" kit conversion. You can see it on DarthEmma's car.
