Stock 2013 GT500 goes over 200 MPH.
Guess the people who called BS on Ford are wrong, huh? |

You can't really go my the speedometer at those speeds. That are calibrated to be accurate at highway speeds. You faster you go the greater the error. They should have hooked up a GPS system. They are more accurate then to cars instruments. Not saying he didn't do it however. The error could be on positive or negative.

As stated the speedometer on a car has a 3-5% margin of error. At 60 that is 1 or 2 MPH off. At 200 that is 6-10 mph. And they are generally set to read higher than you are traveling for obvious reasons.
I am not saying it can or cannot do 200 mph, I am saying do not believe the speedo on the dash at anything close to those speeds.

I don't know about the stock speedo not beingGoing nite nite love u miss u:-) able to read properly at those speeds but I guess it does make some sense seeing how everyone uses some type of gps to accurately measure the speed. The car should run the number given the proper conditions but who really cares nobody will ever hit that speed on a public road on this side if the pond.

Just curious, how many have died trying? not against it but those are some dangerous speeds to be travelling at on normal highways. I have a coworker who claims to have been in a lambo, with the driver so fat it took the guy like 5 minutes to get into the car, he held a gps and said they did 214 mph here on the Masspike in Massachusetts. Which is nuts because there aren't many long clear straights and they must have had no traffic. I guess with that extra weight, it gave them more downforce

If you look close enough the speedo never touches the 200 mph mark
