I would say it all depends on the ecu
If its bosch or delphi

Because I will never make that mistake again

Well, T4 is probably the proper terminology. I'm no expert, but T4 sounds good to me.

I am actually pretty excited about this new engine. If it's lighter, produces a lot of power with a tune... can you imagine this setup in a Z-28 style package? It might be a real terror on the track. Could be a poor man's champion.

If it's similar to the ATS setup, then yes, it will weigh about 100 pounds less than the V6. All I'm insterested in is the sound of a V8, and low end torque.

I'll probably end up getting the SS, but the turbo 4 is my second choice. The only thing the V6 offers to me is more top end power, but I don't track my cars, so I would not pay extra for that engine.

Yup.. and the ricers can no longer cry because you've got a V8. It'll be fun to watch the T4 Camaro smoke some imports.

I'm seriously going to look into the T4 6th Gen when it some out, it seems traditionally that tunes alone on Turbo cars really produce very good increases in HP and TQ ........ I can't wait .....

Hilarious that people would argue about a 4 cyl vs a 6 cyl when the V8 is still in existence....
From what I've seen of the import world and how fast some of them have become I'd say either of those two (4 or 6) have potential. I am amazed at how fast some of the imports are. When I see a car hit 125mph in the 1/8 mile I am impressed so I'd say look past the obvious and envision the future potential. Kudos to Chevy for the choices. I'd love to see a TT427 in a Camaro. It would be the King of Kings.

Ill pick the V8 everytime for me. But, I really cant wait to see how the 2.0 runs with a tune, bolt ons, eventually turbo swaps.

I think the T4 will appeal to more of a market because lets face it guys... we like to tinker and because this is already F.I. the mods are cheap and the capabilities are great for it... there is already a stg2 ECM tune for the Malibu to take it up to like 300hp and it's only like $700... maybe Cobb Tuning will expand their Access Ports and come out with something for the new generation of domestic F.I. tuners.

IMO also... this new T4 Camaro is the Cobalt SS and Saturn Redline Replacement since the Cruze is a failure in all aspects of the line expect for the 2.0 TDI which is still, meh.

I could see the new T4 with about $3500 in Bolton and tuning reaching up to 370-390hp numbers.

I come from the import F.I. world with my old DSM...

Intake - $300
TBE w/ Mani - $1500
Fuel Pump - $150
Injectors - $600
Map Tuning - $750

=$3300

and you just bumped your power by about 30-35%

just my .02

That would be, as they say, a nice hand grenade ready to go. I know a lot of guys did that and more in the Solstice/Sky days, but wow that would be a stretch for a little tiny 2 liter. The GMPP calibration was pretty good at 290 HP and 330 lbft as I recall. But that was also the old engine. Maybe the new one is more stout, but GM was working on a big turbo version several years ago...................and couldn't make it live as I've heard told anyway at 300 HP.

To me, the V6 offers no value over the turbo 4 if you aren't concerned with trap speeds and ETs at the track. The V6 has more top end power but less torque than the turbo 4.

I wouldn't pay extra money for the V6, but clearly there are many that would.
I wouldn't be so sure about that. In the ATS the v6 is only a smidge faster, but most agree, stock for stock, the 6 is a little better. But the new Camaro is getting the new v6 that makes 335hp and 284tq, so more hp AND torque than the outgoing v6. Most believe the v6 will make a little more power in the Camaro but even at that level, it's only down 6tq but up 65hp.

Torque curve is of course different but the LFX has a very flat torque curve.

I don't think a tune only t4 will be faster than the new v6. Maybe about equal.
