SD card standard clarification for music in MyLink
Everyone,
I had some issues with an SD card and reader. I figured out some useful information and figured I would share since I didn't see it when searching A guy at Microcenter informed me that there are multiple standards for micro SD cards. After being informed of this information I did a little research. Here's what I found: SD (up to 2 gigs) Default format: FAT16 Should work with a camaro with usb ports. SDHC (up to 32 gigs) Default format: FAT32 confirmed to work with a camaro with usb ports. SDXC (64 gigs+) Default format: ExFAT WILL NOT WORK WITH A CAMARO WITH USB PORTS Apparently, the SDXC cards can only be read by "high end products" (cameras, phones, drones, etc.) and will not be able to be read by most products. Standard USB flash drives will work, I just purchased a Samsung fit 128 gb flash drive. It is a USB 3.0 but works with the 2.0 ports. I highly recommend this option as it's tiny and won't accidentally get knocked around. I hope this information helps someone because I was stumped for a few days |
