Trading SS for a 2016 SS???
These 2016 Camaros will not stay out of my head! How much do you think I could sell/trade my '14 1SS RS toward a 2016 Camaro? Less than 10k miles and I could revert it back to stock if it would help my case. Kooks headers and catless 3" exhaust, airlift V2 suspension, z28 grill, oracle side markers, tinted, black powder coated oem wheels and that's about it... Not even tuned so it's still under warranty. Anybody have any idea how much I could get?

Not gonna get anything for any mod on trade in. Look at online trade in values for your car.

If you sell it yourself with the mods you may be able to get more. I sold my modded 2000 ss to a guy that wanted a car with mods and I got e xactly what I wanted.

As far as warranty goes. I'm pretty sure you can kiss the exhaust and suspension system part of your warranty goodbye, and if GM could blame any part of a powertrain failure on the exhaust system... that's gone too. You know you're missing out on a lot of added power from your exhaust system without a tune, right? I suggest you tune it and hang onto it a couple of more years before going for a 6th Gen. By then there should be a 1LE or ZL1 factory version that you won't have to mod to love.

Get what makes you happy.
$$ is just $$. I think your '14 is too nice though. I'd keep it until at least the six gen 1LE comes out.

I didn't get an official appraisal but the salesman said I would get around 28K for my 2014 2SS. Obviously won't get anything for the headers, CAI and tune and he said they can't sell it as a certified car so it actually drops value. Also not much for the custom wheels.
Have you not had any issues with your headers and car not being tuned? |

Go trade your car in today on a new one. Financially they win you lose, but you get a new car. Or get your present car tuned and enjoy it.

I'd wait until the newness in the market wears off. So far it looks like the 6 gen is a huge leap forward, and although it's exciting and tempting, better deals will be had for those willing to wait. But then, if you're in a position to get one, why not? It's only money and the '16 seems to be great car.

Gen 5's are a dime a dozen at the dealer right now so you are better off with a private sale with your mods intact. You might get your feelings hurt on a trade in.
Personally I would keep what you have but... That's your call.

Your going to take a serious hit on trade it if you take it in with headers and modified suspension. Mods quickly detract from the trade in value because they can not warranty or certify the car with aftermarket parts. You either need to return back 100% stock, or find a private buyer. I don't like the 6th so I would just continue on with your 5th, vs the loss of money.

The 5th gen is one of the best looking cars out there right now. 6th gen....not so much.
