For both the SS and the ZL1, the convertible didn't come out till the second year of production. I expect the same will hold for the 6th Gen, so no surprise that it won't be displayed at the reveal.

No surprises. Convertibles are almost never shown at the same time as coupes. The accessories are probably not going to be anything more substantial than stripes, a ground effects kit, wheel options, floor mats, wheel locks, that kind of thing. High profit items for GM & their dealers

Given the performance variation sighted early on at the ring, I wouldn't be surprised if the 1LE is also present

8 days boys! The interior may make me break, I love my ZL1 though so I will be waiting for something equivalent to be released (if ever).

So.. Do you guys think the convertible will be a 2016 or 2017 model?

Of course, beyond the practical matters, by stringing things out a bit they get to keep the new Camaro in the headlines for longer.

I guess. Ford brought the convertible and coupe out for 2015 MY. I wouldn't buy the convertible, but wish Chevy would do the same. One more week!

It really does seem that a targa or t-top variant could actually be a possibility now that we know there is no vert option at the release. Which I might add that fbodfather already slyly confirmed....(that's the way I took it anyways)
Seriously makes you wonder about all the "verts" we saw in camo. Damn I am getting excited!!! |

That is kind of a secondhand article.

I think I stated in another thread the very short rear deck is going to make it hard for a convertible. but I was told how wrong I was!

...I don't see your point. Just because there won't be a convertible at reveal doesn't mean there won't be one at all. 5th gen convertible didn't launch until a year after the coupe. It's par for the course for GM.
