My only concern is will the 6th gen have a 1LE? if so, will it be right away. I understand that for those of you who work directly with GM may know but can't leak any information, nor is that what I am asking. I do however work for a supplier for Camaro, but no where does it indicate a 1LE. If not, I will purchase a 2015 model 1LE. Not my first choice.
There is always the chance that a regular old 6th gen SS could perform better than the current 1LE. I couldn't wait and am glad I didn't. I would guess and say that there could be a sixth gen 1LE but it probably won't be available in the first model year.

Quite frankly I'd be surprised to see a 1LE, ZL1, or Z/28 (assuming each is even planned for the 6th gen) during the first model year, though the engine lineup thread would seem to indicate plans for something above the SS in 2016. Who knows, maybe Chevy will surprise us and not skip a year with the 1LE and ZL1 models.

I hope the so called "Alpha Long -wheel base" doesn't mean just as heavy as the current or even a 100lb loss .... I am still hoping for a Light weight 6th Gen(fingers crossed) 3,500lns please but if it really will sit on a 114.5 wheel base we can kiss lighter goodbye ... Hell, my Chevelle sits on a 112 inch wheel base and weighs around the same as my 2013 2LT ....

I wasn't as much into the story as I was the artist rendering.

I think that while it takes design cues from the 2nd gen, it has a modern muscular look. If the new car looks anything like this and is lighter, I will definitely be looking to get one. ...and hopefully keeping my 5th gen.

At the same time, I'm open to something totally new that we have never seen before. If it goes that route, I hope that it keeps an identity in which we can look at the car and see a "Camaro".

Wow! 3,500 lbs you can't be serious! There's no way a Camaro is touching that! Heck the C7 is right there and that's the sports car! Well, depending on the package!

I thought of this rendering, when I seen the on this thread! But for some reason I like the one in this thread better! Maybe, because the one that's in this thread has the hips and longer back like the C5! But I like the front better on this one!

I know the 3.500lb curb weight is a pipe dream but we can all dream sometimes ..... lol ........ the thought of the 6th Gen "growing" in size is not what I would like to see .... I was really hoping for smaller, lighter and faster ....

Well, you can dream big! I guess j/p hahaha ... But love the size of the 5th Gen, it's the best of both world's! 2-door coupe with a sedan size! Not like a typical 2- door or what you expect! It's special made! Really don't want it smaller and tighter like the mustang! Corvettes take care of the typical two-door! I think the car can be big and fast!

I did the math on another forum and I think a 6th gen Camaro built on LWB Alpha would gain weight - over 3600 lbs for the turbo model and over 3800 lbs for V6 configurations. On the other hand, if it's built on SWB Alpha, a turbo Camaro with a stick could be in the 3400 lb range, and V6s could be in the 3500 lb range.

They didn't stray to far (one to the next) with the C4 - C5 - C6. Safe evolution. Even the C4 was a modern interpretation of the C3. Not retro but safe staying with the recipe.

The C7 has a B pillar and radical rear end! The purists cried that the tail lights weren't round. It looks like a Vette but Chey took a major divination from anything that had been done before.

Usually the f-body remodel before the intro of the new platform hints at what's coming. I have a hard time seeing the division that approved the Stingray simultaneously designing a safe Camaro.

So far the Vette has regurgitated nothing but all the designations.

Next year they will sell a "Z06" with an automatic and a convertible top with navigation and deluxe stereo.

Zora Arkus-Duntov will spin @ 7100 rpm in his grave. :-(

Only because he didn't have the technology at his disposal to make a car that great.

Sorry I'm just floored at any criticism of a car because it actually can compete I. A global front.

Go check out a Ferrari. Pretty sure you aren't looking at a car with no air manual windows and locks and manual steering and brakes.
