( it's a 2016 SS ) They said I could get free towing under warranty so no problem. I guess losing all the time and the inconvenience caused by "nothing wrong" doesn't enter their minds. I can't see having to use a battery tender all the time. Not much place to plug one in if you're in a motel attending meetings for a few days............
Yes I'm not excited about plugging my car in every night like its a Tesla........but its not a Tesla.

Haven't tried it yet but the Tech told me to put on the flashers then hold the start button for up to 15 seconds (foot off the brake).

thanks for the link but I think GM has them overpriced for this little gadget. Also if the car only has two weeks of life they should have given these away and advertised that your car has to be tethered.

When I travel I will NEVER be able to take this vehicle to the airport. FML.

Hi Mike,
I put the foot on the brakes. You mean the warning flasher right. I will try.

Same as vette:

The Corvette MAY be shipped in transport mode. To remove the car from transport mode, turn ON the four way flasher and place the driver’s foot on the brake AND on the clutch if it is a manual transmission. Press and hold the Start button for approximately 15 seconds. At this point the engine will START, but CONTINUE to hold the start button for approximately 15 seconds. Information will display on the center of the cluster that will indicate when transport mode has been turned OFF. Transport mode can be entered using the same procedure.

Be aware it does not cut the power a whole helluva lot....

The car can get more than two weeks for just what you mentioned, you would have good class action if they after 2 weeks died by the hundreds in an airport lot. The car should go a month if everything is working as designed. I get 4-5 weeks.

But....many don’t...

yes, I'm pretty sure he meant warning flasher when he said flasher.

EDIT: I tried this yesterday with foot on brake and held button for a count of 15. Car started and on the DIC it shows Transport Mode On. Didn't see any other behavior than that. Had to follow the same process to turn it off.

Well....another Friday and another dead battery. Not quite two weeks ago I had the problem. Today I bought a battery tender on sale at Costco and thought I would install it but realized the car was dead when I opened the door. ugh. Tomorrow I'll call roadside assistance for another boost after I install the cables under the hood.

Any chance my LED backup lights with a resistor attached is draining this thing? That is the only rogue mod I have done.

There’s a keyhole on the top of the back seat to pop the trunk.

Did the lack of window indexing cause a problem?

OP,

If the battery is dead and you open the car door I assume the window will not "index"(ie lower itself by an inch or so when you pull on the door handle). I also own a vert and wonder if this would cause the door to stick shut, the window to pull out part of top or even cause the window to break. Wha happened with yours?
