A Mustang. Why spend my money on a company that doesn’t value my business?

Because the prices for the new Mustangs are ridiculous. Performance options on the Ecoboost hit 50k, optioning the GT like a 2SS 1LE ends up with a price tag over 7k higher. The Darkhorse with performance options has a ZL1 price tag.

So bang for buck is still Camaro... and GM does value your business, if you buy trucks or EVs lol.

Pretty soon the Mustang will be the only game in town. I would sooner buy a Yugo than a Chevy truck.

A cheap used EV might be good, that way I can get in on the class action lawsuit that’s on the horizon for the 20% overstated ranges.

Flash forward 5 years, when the last of the new small block Chevys and the Hemi's are all distant memories. What will a Mustang go for then?

I just don't know how enjoyable it will be to own a current generation muscle car 20 years from now. They are so complicated now with their electronics, sensors, mag-ride dampers, E-diff, etc. I could be wrong, but it just seems like it would be a nightmare to keep them running compared to the older muscle cars. An how long will manufacturers continue to make parts for them?

EVs are basically like computers now where once they run their course you just E-waste them and start again.

Agreed and if you want a Tremec 6 speed the Dark Horse is the only trim that offers it.

That said, pretty soon they will be the only muscle car option left so they can get away with that increased pricing.

5 years from now will be a different discussion, just like 5 years ago

There's way too many Camaro in the south, so I went with a C8. Incredibly comfortable grand tourer for me and the wife.

My decision would depend heavily on my budget. Since my Camaro is a weekend car, I would stick with my 1SS 1LE. Best bang for the buck out there in my opinion. Like others have said If money was no object I'd choose a ZL1 over a C8 and C8 Z06 over a ZL1. The problem is its hard to find a C8 at MSRP and almost impossible to find a Z06 period.

Corvettes have become so much more expensive over the last two generations. When I purchased my C6 in 2007 it cost about what I paid for my 1LE. Of course I got a great deal on it at the time. It was a 3LT Z51. In terms of today's dollars it would have been about 60k. Now you can't buy a base C8 for that, much less one with options. And the Camaro is a much better car than the C6 ever was.

Has Ford said they will keep building the ICE Mustang 5 years from now? If they do, they will be rediculous prices just like we see on the Corvette. Just my guess...

I had a C7, was going to buy a C8 until they introduced them and I had a chance to see the styling. No thanks, back to a Camaro. The C8 has far too many lines, looks like they had one person design the front half and another person design the back half. Looking forward to another Camaro 'Vert in the next few months, no interest in a C8.
