Just a heads up also... a friend of mine who was born and raised in this area, and still has family there says that I-75 will start major construction on Monday Aug 15th... so keep that in mind when alotting time for travel to and from places using the interstate 75.

Thanks for posting that.

We are taking 57 up to Chicago and over too Lansing. Just wondering if we shouldn't catch 70 across to Indy and then up 69

I've done both routes in the last several months and say I-70 to I-69 is the better choice.

The I-75 construction reference is north of Birmingham so will not affect anyone not coming from the north.

I am coming from Colorado and always take I-70 to Indianapolis. Then I-69 up to Michigan. Might be a tad farther, but sure is quicker and safer.

Thanks guys... I was kind of hoping to see some new scenery as I've made the drive to Indy for both C5 Fests, but will definitely take your advice.

They still have rooms for those trying to figure this out...

Now, I've rented a Camaro (hopefully, but no guarantees)... and if I actually get one, I'll go to Troy after Thursdays events and make Camaros and Coffee. If not, I'll change my reservations, stay Thursday in Lansing (to party with the forum of course, and sleep in Friday), and head to Troy on Friday to be in place for Saturday's shindig!
That sounds like a good plan. Since the meet and greet is on Wed we could move Thursday night to the Woodward area.

My crew is booked at a Hotel in Warren right now. And this will be our route to the Camaro Corral

Ok so it's official now. I extended my Lansing stay to include Thursday night. I will sleep in on Friday and take it easy getting over to Detroit. You early bird C&C peeps have fun on Woodward. I may try a self-guided cruise once I get there but I'm not going to rush it.

Next step, and I know I'm slacking here considering my trip officially starts tomorrow, is to book a room for Woodward/Detroit.

Smart move! I tried to book at that hotel as well but they were full. Their other hotel, Comfort INN however was not. It's up a mile from you guys. I will be staying there from 18th-21st. Staying in Lansing, MI on the 17th night but moving down to Warran because an hour and a half everywhere and back for early morning events is a no go lol. I'd have to get up and like 3 to hit up cars&coffee or the cruise to secure a parking lot... Now, I am 20 minutes away from every event lol.

Edit: I just changed up the hotel from Comfort inn to Edward Village. Location works out better for this way.

Man, that looks cool too. I actually picked up tickets for a Tigers game Friday night. BoSox are in town against the tigers Thursday through Saturday. Picked up front row behind third plate next to the tigers dugout. Hoping to snag autographs which I hear they hand out before the game pretty regularly...

Not until you mentioned it just now, no. At least I haven't. According to what I just looked at, darn near everything about that event is sold out now and that includes drag racing on Woodward and most of the dyno time slots, though a few times are still open.

That group seems to be mostly geared towards Mopar anyway. Nothing wrong with that, necessarily, just not my thing.

As Buford "Mad Dog" Tannen once said: "Let these sissies have their party."
