Just a heads up also... a friend of mine who was born and raised in this area, and still has family there says that I-75 will start major construction on Monday Aug 15th... so keep that in mind when alotting time for travel to and from places using the interstate 75.

We are taking 57 up to Chicago and over too Lansing. Just wondering if we shouldn't catch 70 across to Indy and then up 69 |

I've done both routes in the last several months and say I-70 to I-69 is the better choice.
The I-75 construction reference is north of Birmingham so will not affect anyone not coming from the north. Laborsmith |

I am coming from Colorado and always take I-70 to Indianapolis. Then I-69 up to Michigan. Might be a tad farther, but sure is quicker and safer.

Thanks guys... I was kind of hoping to see some new scenery as I've made the drive to Indy for both C5 Fests, but will definitely take your advice. |

Ok so it's official now. I extended my Lansing stay to include Thursday night. I will sleep in on Friday and take it easy getting over to Detroit. You early bird C&C peeps have fun on Woodward. I may try a self-guided cruise once I get there but I'm not going to rush it.
Next step, and I know I'm slacking here considering my trip officially starts tomorrow, is to book a room for Woodward/Detroit.

Edit: I just changed up the hotel from Comfort inn to Edward Village. Location works out better for this way.

That group seems to be mostly geared towards Mopar anyway. Nothing wrong with that, necessarily, just not my thing. As Buford "Mad Dog" Tannen once said: "Let these sissies have their party."

Does anyone know if we can wash cars at the ramada? After a 9 hour drive she's gonna need a bath.
