I'm not the kind of person to have an opinion I can't defend...rest assured...you should know that by now, you've been around this site nearly as long as I have.

This just isn't that kind of thread.

I guess it is too bad that the CAFE standard uses a harmonic mean. Unfortunately, this type of mean lessens the significance of extreme outliers such as the 95mpge Volt.

Sorry guys/gals but a Camaro V6 or Mustang V6 is not a real Camaro or Mustang. No V8 sound no real ponycar even if a turbo V6 could make more power.
Who would buy a Porsche without a V-8 or flat-6 or a Ferrari without a V-12 or V-8 ?
No one !
Maybe no one would buy them because they don't build them anymore....

The V6, on the other hand, has always been a part of the Camaro and Mustang. They are as "real" as it gets. May not be for you....but they're no less a great version of our favorite car.

Yeah, and it had a long history with Ferrari racing as well.

I learned to drive a stick on my dad's 944 Porche... which was a 4 banger... Face the facts, without a v6 model there would be no justification for the car to exist at all.

*Rechecks VIN from old 1LT* ...Yep, still a Camaro.

Point of fact: I preferred the sound of my V6 Camaro with the Corsa catback over the sound of my V8 Camaro with the stock exhaust.

I guess those people who own a '53 Corvette overpaid because they aren't real Corvettes.

Now that we've had a good dose of "Climate" hysteria kicked up today, I expect the price to rise faster and the end to come sooner for the V8 Camaro. People who already own older ones will probably have to register them every year with some kind of testing done to determine how evil they are and a special tax assessed to the owner depending on the miles driven. Don't thikg you can play games with the odometer either, as part of the deal that lets you keep your monstrosity (as opposed to confiscation) will be that you have to have a GPS tracker installed.
