Looking for info on ported throttle bodies
OK so I know there are threads on ported throttle bodies. However many of them are old.
So my question is are they worth it? (most people say yes) And who's would you recommend? Thanks Craig

They are old but are accurate also. I'm going with a bbk or vmaxx.

Depends on why you want one. Ask Bo White if you really need one.

I'm going to install a CAI. I figured if I'm going to change the TB this would be a good time. I PM'd Bo and am waiting on his reply. Thanks Craig

He will get back to you and its a really nice piece. I recently had the TPS sensor part on mine fail and it was an easy swap to keep the ported piece. I've read a million post on not taking one apart, but they are apparently talking about complete tear downs and not tps sensor swap outs. Long story short, if you have issues 3 years down the road like I did you don't have to get another one ported.

Bo has threads where he's had cars do back to back dyno runs showing gains. The thing you will notice the most is it the increase in throttle response. I have his stage 2 and stage 3.

While one from Bo or Vmax would be awesome, I bought a nice, clean low mile TB off a forum member here, and did it myself. I researched everything I could find of this forum, and elsewhere on just how far to go, and with a good dremel set and some patience, I think it was well worth it. Wasn't hard at all, and while I'm not insinuating it's as good as something from Bo, it works well for me. No codes thrown, a noticeable improvement at throttle tip in, and I'm happy. Cost was around $100 for the TB, and about two to three hours of my time. I think it's a great entry level project for someone interested in porting for airflow, and at $100, if I f'ed it up, I can just throw on the non-ported OEM I have.
I will admit, there isn't a ton of specific info online, but I did find a good video on Youtube on porting a very similar TB off a 5.3 Chevy that gave me some good info on just how far to push it.
